Poughkeepsie Sex City

In May, Grant was hired by Nerve to write a piece tentively titled "Poughkeepsie Sex City." If it worked out, there would be potential for a column where each month Grant would travel to a city that one wouldn't typically think of as "sexy" and try to see if he could manage to dig up where all the naughty stuff happens in each town. Siege was brought on as the photographer, and I just wanted to tag along because, hey, free trip to Poughkeepsie!

Here's Siege (aka - Clayton James Cubitt) the Grizza and me in our rental car leaving the city.
Shea Stadium (Which if you live in the area you'll know means I totally took a wrong turn off the BQE). Oh, and most of these photos were taken by Siege unless otherwise noted.

Me flustered for making an idiotic driving mistake.

Happy Grant in the backseat cold chilling.
Bridge lights.
Tollbooth.
Yankee Stadium! Yay, that means we're heading in the right direction. Which means it's time for....

...CAR RADIO DANCE PARTY! We put on Hot 97 and freaked to the beat of today's phreshest jams, yo.

We got into downtown Poughkeepsie and it was exactly what we expected it to be like on a weeknight.

Once we were in town, our plan was to seek out naughty sexy fun. We asked around a bit and found out there was a rock show going on at the venue called The Chance.
We got to the Chance, showed off our cameras and said that we were there to cover the show for "a major music magazine." We were wisked in with no further questions asked.
It turned out that the band playing that night was Stellar Tuesday, a band from the East Village fronted Eric, by a guy we know!

There were also some really amazing pictures of Siege and I sneakily posing next to all sorts of angst-ridden crazily dressed teens, but one of Siege's hard drives failed and those pics are now lost forever! Boo!

After the show, Grant chatted up some locals trying to get a line on where we should go next to find some hot, sexy action.

Turns out - there ISN'T ANY! We drove around the town aimlessly for another 35 minutes stopping people and trying to get a bead on something naughty or sexy but came up empty. In the end we headed to a diner because a milkshake will always make things better.

Squinty Siege. After eating, we also went to a strip club, but they wouldn't let us in with cameras and a few other bars, but then it started pouring rain and we decided to call it a night and head back to NYC.

Based on our inability to find the dirt in Poughkeepsie, the column was killed. But hey, milkshakes, right?
