Ece Equestrian Photo Shoot

My good friend Ellen and her friend Emily grew up riding horses together. (Emily still rides them for a living!) Most competitive equestrian shrits were made of old school, dry-clean only fabrics that were super-expensive to clean & iron all the time.

Spotting an opportunity, Ellen & Emily teamed up and designed the first competition-approved riding shirts to be made from modern materials and founded The Ece Equestrian Company They had a arranged for a horse to be brought down to the Copper Square Hotel for their very first photoshoot and asked if I'd be the photographer (you may also recognize one of the models)! Here are my favorite pics from the day!

Sunday, November 28th

While we waited for the horse to arrive at the hotel (he was being transported down to Manhattan from upstate via trailer), Klaus (the manager of the hotel at the time) took us up to the roof so we could see the totally surreal view from the glass-edged roof deck. Breathtaking!

Junior the horse arrives! Emily and Meredith out front of the hotel with him while we worked to get things set up for...

...one of my favorite shots!

If you look closely you can see the duct tape we had to put over his hooves so he wouldn't chip the slate with his clomping around!

Checking in, Mr. Ed?

I see you've brought all your show ribbons!

After we finished out front, we brought Junior around into the side garden so I could shoot a bunch of close ups of the shirts.
After, we shot a bunch of locations inside the hotel.
Oh you know, just standing around down here in the basement!

After we'd finished shooting with Junior, we raced back up to the roof to take advantage of the gorgeous sunset.

Looking casual while leaning backwards over a glass railing 196' feet up is easier said than done.

That's a wrap! Thanks to everyone who helped out (especially Klaus for letting us bring a horse into the hotel lobby)!
By the end of December, I used a bunch of images above to create a hang-tag "mini-booklet" to be affixed to the shirts.
Inside of the hang-tag.
Congrats Ellen & Emily!
