Random Thursday Night of Karaoke at The Delancey

Not too much of a narrative here, just a random Thursday night out on the town.

The night started off chilling with the Grizza at my (messy-ass) apt.

Around 11ish, we headed over to the Delancey to meet up with Meredith and check out her friend's band...
...The Everyothers (who were really fun live).

After the show, we decided to head over to Lit. On the walk over Grant was taking pics so when he wasn't looking I pulled by pants down to show some ass-crack and then hid it with my shirt. Then right when he was ready to take the next photo, I raised my arms so that my shirt would lift forcing Grant to accidentally take a picture of my ass. The joke was executed flawlessly save one small problem: I apparently don't have an ass.

We got to Lit and ran into Jason who was DJing upstairs. Playa hooked us up on the free drink tip.
Then on the way downstairs, I ran into Mike Fintzy who I went to high school with and hadn't seen since he graduated in '93! Say wha! Roxbury High School in the house!

Down in the basement we met up with Josh.

And then Grant impressed us with his pole tricks. (Actually ladies, this is only one of his "pole tricks." He'll happily show you his other if you ask next time you see him.)
I'd always heard this guy loved black pole.

The best thing about the back bathroom downstairs at Lit is that there isn't a real door, just two little swingy half-doors (like they had going into saloons back in ye olde wild, wild west) which enable you to sneak your camera in around the corner and take pervy I-caught-you-peeing snapshots.
sid and buddy
Bladders emptly, we headed over the basement of Remote to say hi to Sid & Buddy and friends.

Ellen Stagg in the hizzy.
charlene, grant
Charlene (who recently moved from London) made it too!

Grant hit the stage and tried out some new moves. Like pretending that his leg and ass were a guitar so he could play along for the two-guitar solo (holy shit). After warming up the crowd with his new moves...
See? Check them out! Especially the guy on the right in the black shirt doing a little two-fisted cheer. Awwww.
sid and buddy
He closed in for the kill with an aerial classic (bonus points awarded for the finger pointing at the ground).
larson, sid and buddy
When following an act like Grant, sometimes you gotta enlist the help of props. Fully intending to take on the master, relative karaoke newcomer Larson took the stage in full skipper regalia flanked by two pastel chicas and busted out Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart (which he actually has the gumption to call "his" song! Playa, please!)
larson
Hahahah. It was all smooth sailing until Capt. Larson jumped the shark with...
hulk fist, larson, sid and buddy
...PROP EXCESS! In accordance with Buddyhead's Rules of Rock (ie: "Number 18. Drummers can take off their shirts or they can wear gloves, but not both.") the Karaoke Rules of Rock must state that you can wear a Skipper's uniform or a HULKfist, never both.
grant, me
Sorry, Larson. Shortly after Larson's song, I was called up and handed my camera off to Grant so he could take some pics of me. Instead, Grant spent the entire time using my camera to...
carol, grant, marjorie
...take pictures with himself and girls.
grant
Oh, and with Meredith's ass.
carol, grant
Making "Joey from New Kids on the Block" faces, no less.
me, meredith
Grant might've gotten the ass-shot but he sure didn't get his nostril licked.

On the street outside of Remote we ran into Grant's former interm Noah and her friend who gave Grant the mutual "get a load of this guy" (because they were both wearing Robert Smith clothing items!).
leigh, meredith
A little past one, Meredith and I went over to Kabin to meet up with Leigh. I went to the bathroom in the back and then ran into someone on the way back and when I got back to the front of the bar I found Leigh and Mer talking to none other than...
leigh, meredith, mr whitefolks
...Chicago's legendary Mr. Whitefolks, who is arguably the world's only famous white pimp best known for his extensive speech on the importance of "beating the shit outta your hos to keep them in line" in HBO's Pimps Up Hos Down documentary. When I showed up, he was actually in the process of trying to convince Leigh and Meredith and that they should "be his bitches." He later informed me that this process is known as "turning bitches out." (Check out both of Leigh and Meredith's absolutely priceless expressions. Hahahah.).
leigh, meredith, mr whitefolks
But in the end, they agreed.
