a thing in 31 photos virtual reality Spotted this new VR store on my way... Later in the evening, Kevin came over for some VR, some reiki... Then she tried out some virtual reality. Pretty excellent nerd-hang to close out January 2018! Josh wanted one more go! Juliette wanted to try next! After brunch, a whole crew came over to my place to TRY VR! ...watching Kevin kill guys with swords in gladiatorial VR combat. Vin was mesmerized.... Later in the evening Kevin and Vin came over and of course we played VR. We took turns playing for 4 hours! Lol. The Vive headset has a foam faceplate that gets all sweaty so we'd hang it on my fan to dry out between turns. Matrix Gurj. Around 4pm Gurj came over for a hang and wanted to try VR. Pretty excited about getting this guy up and running. Picked up my couch to make more room for VRing in my living room. After almost two-hours of software updates, I finally got STEAM VR working and dove into the Rick & Morty VR game! Spent Sunday evening setting up the virtual reality gaming system my brother shipped to me in December. Installed the two wall-mounted LIDAR motion-tracking cubes in opposite corners of my living room. Ta-da! Got the computer up and running...but still had to install the LIDAR motion tracking cubes on the wall. Getting everything set up! At the encouragement of his wife, my brother sold me his awesome computer he built to play Virtual Reality! Now that he has two kids he basically had zero time to play it ...for a VR party! Brett showing off his moves in Superhot VR. Bruce is my role model. When I'm his age I can only hope I still have such a vibrant love for video games, gadgets... ...to play some VR! Once the kids were asleep, we had another VR party! After Max was asleep, Brett busted out his VR set up and we took turns playing. Baby's first trip to VIRTUAL REALITY! I was totally hooked. Ended up staying up super late testing out all the games he doesn't have time to play. lol ...and wall-mounted LIDAR (like radar with but with light) cubes to track your motion and map your body into the games! In addition to having a very-powerful computer, you needed to have these special Virtual Reality controllers.... After Craig headed home, my brother took me upstairs to show me his latest TOY that he was really excited to show me. He custom built this PC with a really high-end video card so that he could run the new virtual reality games that were being released on Steam's online gaming platform.
