The Mermaid Parade 2002

This year's Mermaid Parade out at Coney Island wasn't nearly as much fun as last year's (when we actually got dressed up and participated in the parade), but it was still a pretty good time.

All the people dressed up and participating in the parade start on the boardwalk, walk down the beach through three gated ribbons, each representing a season, and then march the entire parade right in the water, officially bringing in the summer.

The party was pretty much a bust - it was totally overcrowded and hot and sweaty inside, so we took off. Back on Bedford Ave, we ran into this tall funny guy who kept trying to chat up this really drunk little midgety type guy. I'm sure everyone who reads this knows how much I love midgets, so we immediately went over to see what was going on.
