On Saturday I went out to Frank & Liz's apartment for the TENTH installment of my favorite holiday party of the season: A Very Picarazzi Christmas! (Here's a link to the very first one back in 2005!)
Conversational highlight of the night came up after I matched with a pretty girl on Tinder who mentioned she was trans in her profile. Grant: "What kind of trans are you down with? Pre or post op? I replied probably post-op. Grant chided me for being so provincial, "Post-op? Psssshhh. That's just a chick dude. You're so vanilla." Haha.
Lorelei and I kicked off the festivities with a duet. (By the way, I'm writing these caption in May of 2005, almost a year later so I pretty much have no idea what song anyone was singing in these pics).
On Wednesday afternoon, Leah, who I'd met while out in Texas for SXSW, emailed me out of the blue and asked if I wanted to be her plus one for the Death Cab for Cutie show at Irving Plaza. I teased her about how when I'd first met her she walked into a tree...
After getting back into town, Sarah, Caryn and I went out to a sushi dinner with a whole bunch of people. On the walk back to the hotel from dinner, I yelled for Leah to "Watch out!" She was wearing high heels and almost broken her ankle stepping on a sewer grate - however, while she looked down to avoid the grate, she accidentally walked into a tree and cut the bridge of her nose. Some big help I was.
I edited together this montage of some choice cuts of the hits from the evening. (My favorite moment is Fatty's expression at 3:20) Enjoy! Track listing:
