On Wednesday night I went over to the new New Museum on Bowery for some art opening party that Leigh was hosting. There was a huge line around the block outside, but baby girl came downstairs and escorted me in. Awww, fwiends. On the elevator ride up to the top floor, we made faces in the mirror behind the crowd.
Earlier in the week I'd gotten a call from a headhunter about a job opening at a social networking company and on Friday I put on my suit (which is actually the suit I got go to a dance my sophomore year in high school that still fits perfectly...hahahah) and went in to Community Connect for an interview (I'll save you the suspense, I got the job).
After coming to the realization that we weren't going to die we decided we should probably start working on getting out the elevator. We pushed the "HELP" button and were promptly connected to repair company that maintains our elevator. The man we spoke to told us that he'd dispatched a mechanic and that he'd be there in 45-60 minutes. (45 minutes! Faaack! Keep in mind, we'd gotten in the elevator to go up to work because we both had to pee!). Further complicating matters, our building's front door is locked so the dispatch guy tells us we're going to have to get in touch with someone who can come down and let the elevator repair guy into our building.
