Here are the rest of the photos that I took during May that didn't end up in their own entry!
Saturday, May 12th
On Saturday a whole bunch of us went out to a late brunch to celebrate Gurj's birthday! Here's the lovely birthday girl showing off one of her presents: a g-string made out of candy!
Leigh shows off her huge, still-developing bruise from when she was "doored" while riding her bike a few days prior. (That's when someone flings open a car door - usually a taxi door - without looking over their shoulder to ensure that no one's traveling in the bike line).
When I got home that evening, there was a package waiting for me at the apartment! A few days prior, I'd gotten an email from a guy named Dave who does PR for a 80sTees.com. While browsing the web, he'd found a few entries where I joke about looking like "Sweep the Leg Johnny" from the Karate Kid and hooked me up with some sweet Cobra Kai shirts!
No Mercy! (Thanks again for the shirts, Dave! After I received the shirts, I spent like two hours on 80sTees.com reminiscing about TV shows I'd totally forgotten about!)
...where I just kick back and chill in my pink Mets visor. Hahah. Actually, these are the only pics of a lost Sunday I spent at Karen's house watching TV and eating takeout. (And that's totally Karen's not-ironic-at-all, pink Mets visor!) Ha!
They really liked the publicity photos I'd taken of them a couple of months earlier and wanted me to shoot some pics of them playing live. I shot a ton of photos, but sort of hated them all. Meh.
At some point in the night, we all had our phones out on the table and we realized that we all have a the same Sidekick3 phone (because we are all basically 13 year-old girls that IM each other incessantly).
"Hi, Mom? It's Brian. Can you pick Brandon, Gurj and me up from the mall in an hour? No, not the Ledgewood Mall, the Rockaway Mall. Yeah, ok. Meet you by the Cinnabon! Thanks, Mom!"
There were more drinks and more photos - but I think we've embarrassed ourselves enough already. So I just leave you with this one for good measure. Haha.
...and it was totally apparent that the girl had a big crush on the boy and was just WAITING for him to make a move. Check her out here caught in the midst of an "OMG, you're SO FUNNY!" face.
Hahaha. Check out Quinn and Gurj laughing in this photo. So great. Despite the girl's totally slutty trolling-for-a-poling boots and almost 30 minutes of all of us repeatedly yelling out "Kiss her! What the fuck, kiss her!," the dude never got up the gumption to make a move and the girl's friends (who were also watching this whole thing go down) eventually came over at and dragged her away. Booooo!
Hahaha. I don't remember why Sarah's doing the whole "me have Chinee eyes" thing, but I'm sure there's a perfectly-good, non-racist explanation for it. Nah, I'm just kidding. She's totally a racist! RACIST!
So spent the rest of the afternoon holed up in my little computer closet room watching episodes of The Office in preparation.
The seats that Matt got were totally sick! We were like 10 rows back from the stage! The lights went down and (a totally unannounced!) David Bowie came out in a tuxedo and introduced Ricky by singing the "pathetic little fat man" song from Extras. (I love how you can still somehow totally tell this is a picture of David Bowie even though it's totally blurry).
Here's Meredith enjoying Piper's cornchip-scented ears. Mmmmmmm! Piper has the longest tongue in the world. When she closes her mouth, the tip of her tongue is always peeking out because it's too big to fit in her mouth!
Meredith stuck her tongue out to do an impression of Piper and right when I snapped the picture, Piper (who is a notorious face-licker) saw Meredith's tongue sticking out and WENT FOR IT! Hahaha. I love this photo soooo much.
Here's the photo that the drawing is based on! Piper the puppy bounding across the carpet at Leigh's house and licking her chops with her huge tongue! (How fucking cute is this photo?)
