On Tuesday night Amy and I went on a super-long bike! We started out on the east side of Manhattan and then rode all the way down around the bottom and over to the west side. Right at the beginning of our ride, we took a smoke break and then like 45 minutes later I realized that I'd left my backpack sitting on the bench! The bag had a ton of shit in it, iPod, books, keys, two cameras (!!!). I was bumming because I pretty much figured it would be gone by the time we got back...
On Saturday, Meredith and I went down to Chinatown to the aNYthing store to visit Amy K. Meredith brought her a CD-holder that was shaped like a giant cheeseburger. Amy was so excited because it matched her cheeseburger bicycle bell!
Super late that night I went out and had drinks with Amy K (who's pretty much the only person in the world who's worse than me at updating her website). Jeesh!
But by the time I got there, the place was dead. Right after I walked in the door, Ryan and Amy K. showed up (they'd had a mellow evening and decided to rally late as well!)
...Amy K! Yay! While doing shots, I'd gotten a text from her that some serious karaoke was going down at Second and Second and I responded to that shit like Batman does to the Batsignal (the notable difference being that Batman doesn't usually turn up sha-sha-shitfaced).
Where we made Amy laugh so hard she cried! (Either that, or we insulted her until she cried. The truth is, I don't remember, but I'm hoping for the former!)
...Meredith and Grant (and I forget who the girl on the left is - someone's friend from out of town? A stranger that met on the street?) over on Avenue A. If it's after 4am and you're on Ave A and you've been drinking, there's a pretty darn good chance that you're going to end up...
Since we were all pretty much recovering from my going away party earlier in the week (and also since I'd used "Hey, I'm moving" as an excuse to party pretty much every single night for the past five weeks) we decided to play it low-key and have a mellow last night at Misshapes. Here's Fatty, Amy and I on the cab ride over.
Late night outside. Tinny getting sad because we realized with my impending move to San Francisco just ten days away, this was my 2nd to last Misshapes attendance (or so we thought at the time! Doh!). But that doesn't mean that she wasn't wishing me...
Towards the end of the night, Amy got all hardcore and declared that she was going to finish the bottle of Stoli that was on the table. Hey look, you're almost at the, er, bottom.
At the opening party for some dive bar in the East Village. They didn't have their liquor license yet so get got free glasses of (ow-my-head) champagne.
