On Friday night I went to Rockwood Musichall to see Matt play a show with Mike Erico. They rocked it as always. ...then headed over to Berlin to see Liza Colby play a show! Went to see Matt play in a show at the Delancey. Later Sunday afternoon I went to Greenpoint to see Amanda play in a new band. Watched Blink from the other side of the stage. Caught my fourth and final show on tour! So interestingto see how the different audiences bring different energies to everything. Love getting to watch the show... ...the show from the side of the stage. ...take the stage! Such a treat to get to watch... "Keys by Scottie" version. Giant pile of sticks in the woods? Also very excellent to see Matt Skiba play with Blink182. (I was a huge Alkaline Trio fan back in the day). Cool to see cell phones have replaced lighters at concerts. This is old news now, but a few years back this was the first time I'd seen them turn off all the lights in the arean and only have it lit by the light from peoples' phones. This guy caught a drumstick that Travis Barker threw and was STOKED. Awesome to be a backstage fly on the wall at such a huge production. ...Blink182 sound-check to a completely-empty arena. (This was a crazy, surreal experience to have!) ...and up to the side of the main stage just in time to watch... Excellent show. Fun to hear this album 10 years later. It was Andy's birthday and we all got to sing him happy birthday. Awww. Travis even crowd-surfed! Lol. Great show. ...with this guy. You're A Part of It Tour. Owel. Later that evening I went to Webster hall to see Piebald... Wednesday night I went to see Kai perform some original songs on 12th Street. Rocking a tight Freddy Merc look years before they decided to make a movie. ;) ...to see The Twilight Sad with Sarah. On Tuesday night I went over to Bowery Ballroom... Tuesday night, stopped to listen to these guys play in the park. Sunday night I went over to Bowery Electric to see my neighbor Liza's awesome band, the Liza Colby Sound! She always puts on such an amazing show! Afterwards I walked down the beach to see POWERS set! Made it back to the hotel in time to see Run the Jewels! I ran outside the hotel at night because Rage Against the Machine was playing at the pavillion stage and it was mobbed! But before I ran down, Gurj assured me that was just a really really good RATM coverband. LOL. They slayed. Puffed my lil weed pen and listened along from our balcony of privilege... Got back to the hotel to find Courtney Barnett fans going for it Ate out on the balcony and watched people mill around checking out bands. VIDEO
