Tuesday, November 1st

leigh — On Tuesday afternoon I went up to Leigh's place.

Hung out with Edie and then helped her...

leigh — ...set up some of her baby shower gifts!

jane anne — Met up with Jane Anne later to see Eugenio's drawings at the coffee shop.

Wednesday, November 2nd

I like when they dedicate benches to their homeys.

maddy — Morning buddy.

Friday, November 4th

Recovery day after Grant's 40th birthday party at the Slipper Room.

Spend the day nursing a hangover and working on a song.

charlene, chris a, grant, hana — Later that night met up with Chris, Charlene & Hannah to celebrate Grant's birthday in a more low key way.

Saturday, November 5th

leigh, randy d — On Saturday Vin came over with a bunch of drawings of Leigh & Randy that I had commissioned for Leigh's baby shower the next day!

leigh, randy d, vin — So cute! I had to help Vin pick out which Dr Randy drawing had the best likeness because he had never seen Randy's face in 3D (only in photos!).

He even threw in a portrait of Edie!

Spent the evening working on songwriting!

I like to chart out pop-songs I love and then use them as templates for arranging my own songs later on! Here's a chart I made for the structure of Girls Just Want to Have Fun.

I had decided to start doing open mic nights in the neighborhood and wanted to pick a set list of songs that I wanted to try out in front of an audience.

Sunday, November 6th

Walked through Tompkins on a perfect fall Sunday...

...and headed to Leigh's baby shower!

Took the elevator up to the top floor...

She brought me weird gifts from the airport including GLAN MASTER whiskey!

Spent the evening making calls and catching up using my old fashioned phone adapter that I love (even though the audio quality kinda sux)

Monday, November 7th

maddy — Hanging with homegirl. Sweater weather has arrived for little dogs.

Tuesday, November 8th

On Tuesday I went into Preo to help them do some road map work.

Love me a workin lunch.

We all fucking know what happened later on in the evening....

I suspected it could be possible, but didn't actually expect to see it happen.

Except that the pink circle should be orange.

Thursday, November 10th

Recovery week. Spent the day...

...playing guitar and recording whatever little song ideas popped into my head...

...for hours and hours.

After recording a bunch of sketches I'd go back and listen to all of them, give them names and highlight the ones I liked in orange. In order to produce anything creative, I need to set up a system and then let it be the boss of things. lol.

Friday, November 11th

leigh — On Friday I grabbed lunch with Leigh. t-minus five weeks!!

Saturday, November 12th

matt — Went to see Matt play in a show at the Delancey.

Monday, November 14th

Monday afternoon drew some...

...tarot cards...

At 8pm, I went over to Sidewalk Cafe to play a few of my songs at their open mic night. I drew slot #31 on the list. I watched the first few acts...

liza — ...then headed over to Berlin to see Liza Colby play a show!

liza — They rocked it as always.

Then back to Sidewalk to watch the other upstarts as well as wait for my turn.

This guy was very David Brent. I ran into Jane Anne on the street for the first time ever and told her I was waiting my turn at the open mic.

She came in to hang with me and watch the other acts!

Hey, The Edge was there! I finally got called up around midnight and played 2 songs.

I feel guilty about my online kindle reading every time I see a book store close. Oof.

On Thursday Meredith and I went to a STILL-OPEN bookstore to see Jack Womack give a talk about his new UFO book, Flying Saucers Are Real. Thanks for finding the event and thinking of me, Meredith!

Saturday, November 19th

I love dubious technology claims. The company Quwave claimed they had a "emf cancelling scalar wave machine." I decided to buy one and take it apart.

Not a very complicated circuit but....Patent Pending! lololololol

jeet, maddy — Later that evening Gurj came over for a hang. Maddy loves to snuggle in "leg alley."

Sunday, November 20th

Post stretching photo

On Sunday I decided that after two whole years of not-surfing, I could no longer justify keeping a surfboard in a Manhattan apartment. Craig came over to pick it up!

That time of year when I have to watch The Worst Witch.

Received a mystery package in the mail. Turned out to be...

...a handmade wiener dog quilt for Maddy that Kathy made as a thank you for taking her to see Hamilton on Broadway. I love it, thanks Kathy!

Later that evening I realized that Maddy had been catching and eating more mice when she calmed walked up next to me and then vomited tiny spine bones. GROSS!

Wednesday, November 23rd

meredith — On Thursday evening I went over to Meredith's for a stay-in-town hide-from-your-family Thanksgiving!

She whipped up a delightful vegetarian feast!

Then I went home and watched my FAVORITE KIND OF TV!

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. Don't let the fact that the author's of this video can't spell the word "Descendant" correctly...here's a more credit-worthy news source.

These dracula-looking motherfuckers really do be running things tho. You can't look at this photo and not hear his evil lil chuckle. Meh-heh-heh!
