tagged together in 29 photos birthday + party After dinner whiskeys and cigars (shhh...don't tell mom!) outside. Happy birthday, dad! He was really happy she flew down from NJ for his party! Henrietta stood up to tell funny stories about my dad as a little kid. My dad cracking jokes with my cousin Chris. ...I get the gift of gab from my dad. (Ok, probably from my mom too). The apple doesn't fall far from the tree... Fun to watch him walk around and work the room. ...he made the rounds and chatted up everyone and thanked them all for flying down to Florida to help him celebrate. And then before dinner came out... My dad thanked everyone for coming! Check out the spread! Guests started arriving a little after 4pm. I really like parties unless they are for me and then they are much harder for me to enjoy. Why is this? I thought this is something that would be different by now, but with each year that passes I go "Oh, I guess this is just how I am?" ...to stop by Kai's 30th birthday party. ...sing along. ...for the big happy birthday... Not one, but TWO king cakes! A little after 2am, the king cakes came out! Soho Grand backyard pool. Dancing with dad. Birthday girl front and center! The email and flyer she sent around explained that she would be having a circus sideshow-themed party and would be playing the ringmaster and introducing all of the acts! Kitchen crowd. Make a wish! Samantha's bellydance extravaganza culminated with the presentation of a KING CAKE shipped to NYC from New Orleans. Suddenly, the music changed and our attention was directed to the top of the stairs... Check the crowd. It was like having the best private room karaoke session.... After unloading my stuff and having some dinner with the 'rents, I headed back into town and hit Ave C for...
