With summer on it's way out Grant, Emily, Fatty and myself decided to ignore the day's forcast for rain and head back to Ft. Tilden for a little deserted beach action. (By the way - take a moment to appreciate just how great the picture above is).
After Iggy's, Bev and Matt left and Emily and I popped into Pianos, but it was pretty gay so we left. (But not before some hipster kid put his "mesh hat" down on the bar and when he turned around, we swiped it and ran out the door.) We immediately took turns trying it on seeing who...
We met up with Bev Chase who we also know from high school (winner of the infamous "Class Wit" superlative for '95; gotta give mad respect, y'all) at the Gramercy Park Hotel.
Yay, Roxbury High School! Wooooo! After this pic was snapped, the three of us headed down to Iggy's Keltic Lounge (where Grant and I guest bartended) in the LES and met up with Bev's boyfriend Matt (for some reason I didn't take any pics of the four of us. Me not taking pictures? Unheard of!)
Now, check this - Emily's had a crush on John since she was in 9th grade and she subtley hinted that she might want make out with him (she did this by grabbing my arm and whispering "I totally want to make out with John Christie."
The only problem is, Emily's shy and John, although he talks a big game, has a history of "fumbling" when the ball is handed off to him. So I told John that Emily wanted to make out with him and then was like "Hey Emily, why don't you come sit down next to John." Then I got up and took this photo. Look at their "we both totally want to makeout but we're shy" faces. Hehehehe.
Here's my little brother Brett providing further evidence to support the recent scientific discovery that being the "motherfucking Mack Daddy" is likely genetically predisposed.
As soon as I rolled into town, I gots on tha horn and wrangled up Emily Cmielewski and Rachael and we went over to the bar at Chi-Chi's (yep, the Mexican restaurant chain) for some strip-mall style Jersey nightlife action.
After getting the ladies all wet with a solo rendition of the Police's 1978 hit "Roxanne," Emily and I stepped up to the mic to kick a duet of Human League's 1982 hit "Don't You Want Me." Check out DJ/Entertainer Jo Jo Russell (the karaoke emcee) pumpin his fist Arsenio Hall style. "Hoo Hoo Hoo!"
After getting a little drunk, he headed over to Kate's Corner from some vegan deliciousness. Emily makes a wish over a peice of cheese-less cheesecake.
Another little brother! Ricky Eva '97 (and brother of Jen: '94) pouts because he know Emily's going to score a shitload of points for capturing him on film.
Roxbury, our hometown, had nothing going on. So we hopped in the car and drove to Morristown, NJ where we promply struck RHS Alum paydirt! Emily, Scott Morrison (class of '94, baby), his girlfriend whose name I don't know, and me.
After getting back from visiting with Grandma & co, Rachael and I headed up to Pat's Bar (the only bar open in my town on all holidays) to meet Emily and her boyfriend Wes.
Yeah, right. Too bad her "quick nap" lasted until the next morning, otherwise known as "eight-hours of sleep." Haha. The picture on the right was taken the day after the party when Emily snuck upstairs into my room and took another little nappy-nap. Isn't she a little cutie-patootie?
Anyone who knows Emily knows what her favorite three things are: Mountain Dew, milk, and sleep. And here we see Emily doing what she does best. The picture on the left was taken in the middle of the party. Emily partied a little too hard and decided to sneak into my roomates bed for "a little nappity-nap." She claimed that she only was going to take a quick nap and then she would rejoin the party.
That's my friend Emily there in the green circle. She braved a 6 hour bus ride from Boston to come down and see me and for that she rocks. She came down with her friend Lisa (girl in the pink circle) who ended up hooking up on the dance floor in the basement with a stranger. After making out with him on our (dimly lit) basement dancefloor, Lisa asked her mystery make out man if he'd like to go outside and have a cigarette with her. But as soon as she got him outside in the light and got a good look at him, she realized he wasn't nearly as cute as she'd though. So standing there outside with him she told him "Oh! Hold on a second..." then walked back into the party and never came back.
The Usual Suspects: left to right, Emily, Jess, Marion, Caitlin, and Kate. (who for the first time ever in a photo isn't making that "deer-caught-in-the-headlights" face.
