Sweet Maria!

All this fooling around was making Fatty feel amorous.

But Emily wasn't having any of that.

emily
Emily C. showed up with the Sparks tongue in full-effect.
emily
And here's Grant making faces behind Emily's back.
emily
Back in the city we met up with Rachael at Luca Lounge for some Italian food and some pitchers of sangria. After wishing the birthday girl a found farewell...
emily
Emily opted for the oh so apropos "Foxy."
emily
In lieu of internal bleeded, we decided to get AIRBRUSHED TATTOOS! Woooo!
emily
And again and again and again. Six more times in total. (We were going to ride it a seventh, but after a while our insides felt all shifty and weird and I remember how if you're exposed to too much g-force you can tear some of the connective tissue in your abdomen that holds all of your organs in place and then you poop blood. This actually happened to my little brother when were visiting my aunt down in South Carolina years and years ago. They had just gotten a huge trampoline and he spent over 5 hours a day jumping up and down on it, by the fourth or fifth day: Blood poop.) So, six is enough, right? No one wants blood poop. Especially not on your birthday.
emily
After our hot dogs, we decided we all needed some Dippin' Dots (aka - THE ICE CREAM OF THE FUTURE). We were so hot and sweaty that the little frozen ice cream pellets stuck to our lips.
emily
If you ever find yourself at Great Adventure, do not, I repeat, DO NOT ride this ride. Sure, you'll be saying to yourself "But look at the cool-ass sign! There's a fucking Viper on it for Christ's sake." But trust me, after this shitty ass ride slams your skull into the about-as-soft-as-pavement head "guards" about, oh, 150 times in 60 seconds you're going to be cursing that oh-so-cool viper sign (that is if you can even remember what a viper, a curse or a sign is).
emily
Emily, who is clearly a player, was allowed beyond the point.
emily
Here's a picture of us pretending we're not scared shitless.
emily
The line for this one seemed like it might be long....
emily
Who loves 3-D? That's right, the birthday girl does!
emily
Four hour wait for Batman the Ride? I don't think so!
emily
Bev picked us up and we hit the Turnpike (Exit 7a, baby).
emily
Emily shows off the tattoo she'd gotten last night at some new pizza restaurant on 4th Ave. (Pizza parlor temporary tattoos??)
emily
Emily and I met up on the corner of Bowery and Broome and waited for Bev to drive down from midtown (where she keeps her car) and pick us up.
emily
Emily and me.

Ed's romantic crooning put everyone in the mood.

Hahahah. What's up, we look eight.
emily
Emily was there! And so were...

But in the end, optend for a much less nerve-wracking duet.
emily
I tried to capture Emily's custom-made rhinestone beltbuckle that says "EMILY" in sparkling capital letters, but it didn't really come out so well...so um, just use your imagination.
emily
Ed makes sexy for the cam while (creeeeepily) stroking Emily's face. Aw yeah.
emily
Afterwards I met up with Emily and we headed over to Nolita Tavern for a little late night Sid and Buddy karaoke which we arrived to find in full effect.
emily
Emily dons our good, dear friend, the Hulk fist.
emily
Saturday night, Emily and I put on our fancy duds and headed out to enjoy the only worthwhile nightlife in our town...
emily
After karaoke, we headed over to the *ahem* Roxbury Diner (which for as long as we'd known it had always been called the Victoria Diner before the Hatzimihalis family decided to go all weak on us and cash out) for some late night burgers...
emily
You know him, you love him. Ladies and gentleman, put your hands together and give a warm welcome to Chi-Chi's Mexican Mall Strip's very own, Music Man Jo-Jo Russell! (Yo, y'all may remember Jo Jo from entries like "Thanksgiving 2002," the good news is, his long-promised website is finally up and running!)
emily
Emily and Bevery Chase (Class Wit '95). I'm using Bev's full name here with the hopes that any time some one googles her name, the whole "Class Wit" thing will show up next to it.
emily
Emily sang a lil' diddy...
emily
...and then stayed on stage to provide some much-needed back-up dancer augmentation to this guy's weak-ass jam.
emily
Not really working, though. (And painful to watch).
emily
Jesse "Primetime" Sullivan gives Emily the sneaky karaoke duet boob grab. Ta-dow!
emily
Traumatized onlookers.
emily
Chris, the Vin, and Emily.
emily
After 24 minutes of non-stop, drunken verbal assult, Haase finally came up for air (or more likely went to get another drink). Emily rushed in to box him out and save the birthday boy (check out Grant trying to hide from Haase behind her. Hahahaha).

Then Emily came and met up with us and we went and saw a movie. Yay, November!

What's better than three Roxbury grads in one pic? How about six mothafucking Roxbury Grads in one pic? Insanity. Bev, Chris, Colin Badini, Ian, Emily and me.

Friday night I headed out to Hoboken with fellow Roxbury High School graduates Emily Cmielewski and Bev Chase to see our friend Christina Alessi's band (also RHS alum, baby) Hey Tiger play at Maxwell's.

And we were even treated to yet ANOTHER (late-comer) RHS arrival...Amanda Polk (who still won't make out with me. It's been like 10 years already. Seriously, WTF?)

Early on Thursday evening, my friend Bev Chase decided that she had too many errands to run before leaving town early the next morning on a trip and had to give up her Radiohead ticket. Being the amazing friend she is, she suggested to Emily that I take her ticket. So I get a call from Emily out of the blue and she's like "What are you doing tonight?" Me: "Nothing. I'm tired. I'm staying in." Emily: "No, you're not! You're actually going to go see Radiohead with me at Madison Square Garden." (I'll omit the part where I jumped around and started screaming like Grant at a Backstreet Boys concert...but suffice it to say, I was excited).

So Emily and I headed uptown to Bev's apartment to pick up her ticket and then we ate delicious Quizno's subs. (mmmm). Right before hopping a cab to MSG, Emily and I spotted this bitching-ass, chopped, custom mini-van. Check that shit out, yo. If the A-Team had been dwarves, this would've been their vehicle of chizzoice.

02.04.2004 - Addendum: So tonight I got the bestest email ever:
"I live in the same apartment building with the owner of that black van. The owner of this van looks like eerily like Fabio: long blond hair, constant tan and constantly wears the long beach tank top. His two tiny "hot dog" dogs, that he walks with everywhere, constant yelping wake the apartment. Anyway, FYI."

That's so great. I was totally hoping it was owned by a family of dwarves, but picturing the tan guy driving it with his long blond hair blowing out the driver-side window and his two weiner dogs hanging out the passenger side, that's almost as good.

Look at me trying to subtley get Emily to show more boob. Goddamn, I'm smooth.
emily
That's right! It means it's time to play "FUCK WITH THE DRUNK GUY!" Emily kicked it off with a lil' boob showing.
emily
Hahahahahahahahaha.
emily
I mean, this pic is pretty awesome and all. But just imagine how much better it would be if the Hulk fist wasn't contaminated and he could've been wearing it. Fack.
emily
After we realized that the Hulk fist made pictures instantly funnier, it made rounds quicker than a first-year Sorority girl. Here's it is with Emily...
emily
...back to Emily (where it have that little extra oomph to her "Hit Me With Your Best Shot")...
emily
We quickly lost interest in her butt, and moved on to other butts. Grant and Emily do a "butt-appreciation sixty-nine."

Jamie, Jen and Emily. Real quick, y'all should know that I met Jamie and Jen because of this site! (Jamie googled a former co-worker of his and found pic of her on this site - after he read through it, he found pictures of Laurie Choi! So emailed me and was like "You don't know me, but we have friends in common and we should hang out! PS - I'm not gay!")

Then we all tried out all the different super-expensive massage chairs.
emily
After walking around the mall for a bit we decided to head over to the iMax theater and watch "Kilimanjaro." But not before we purchased some Dippin' Dots (aka - THE ICE CREAM OF THE FUTURE!!! )
emily
Back out on the dancefloor I found none other than Josh Barash, a college friend and former Crackhouse resident, cutting rug with the ladies.
emily
Friday night Kate Hill was in town from LA and Laurie Choi was in town from DC. A whole buncha us met up at Drinkland to catch up. L to R: Emily, Laurie and Jen (The Sisters Choi), and Kate.

So in early September, Emily, one of my best friends from high school moved from Boston to NYC. Right before moving in, she went on vacation with her parents to the (aw, yeah) Jersey Shore. When she got back into town Sunday night, she told us to come to her house because she had (dramatic pause) presents for Grant and I. Here she is making Grant close his eyes and telling time to "Pick a hand: left or right."

So we ended up having so much singing at Frank's that we decided to round up a crew and head to Nolita Tavern for some Saturday night Sid & Buddy Karaoke action. Emily Cmielewski was in town from Boston apartment hunting for a place in NYC so she came with Bev (who I also went to high school with) and met us there. (L to R: Bev, MLE, Grant, Fatty and Colin).
