The February Roundup

Here they are: All the photos from February that don't merit their own entry but still deserve a lil' loving.

Here's me posing with a late entry to the "Bizarro Me Lookalike Contest" (a friend of Sarah's) after my first brunch back in NYC after 10 days in Aruba.

colin, frank, liz — Later that night I went out to Frank and Colin's place in Brooklyn to watch the Superbowl. (They actually had two TV sets set up right next to each other: one with the game on mute, the other showing HBO Sunday night TV! Hahah. Curb Your Enthusiasm was so much better anyway.)

Monday, February 2nd

amber, me, vin — Met up with Vin and Amber at Lit again.

herman the cowboy jew, me — Just when you thought I'd exhausted the potential to run into anymore NYC characters, Herman the Cowboy Karaoke Jew shows up!

me, vin — I hijacked Vin's peepers and made him all squinty!

amber — "Ummmm, I know your name is Marco, Marco. We're roommates. Remember?"

amber — "Vin! Quick, grab my boob and pretend you're my boyfriend so Marco gets discouraged and stops trying to hook up with me."

Wednesday, February 4th

On Thursday afternoon, I was sitting at my desk working on my computer when I heard an INSANE ruckus out on the street. I opened up my window and saw this!

Apparently, there was a fire in an apartment in the building next to ours.

They busted out the ladder and everything!

Saturday, February 7th

david k — On Saturday afternoon, I stopped by DKNY's apartment and we caught up while he lounged around in a luxurious man-robe.

emilie, mona — On Sunday afternoon I was out in Brooklyn so I called up Emilie and told her I was in the neighborhood!

emilie, mona — When I arrived, it turns out I had caught Emilie, Mona and another friend in the midst of making homemade costumes. Hahaha.

emilie — The only thing funnier than doing the running man while your cat sits on your back is...

emilie — ...putting said cat's tail in your mouth and inadvertly mimicking the girl in porno (see TV in background) that's sucking on a dildo.

Tuesday, February 10th

fatty, nina — Tuesday I met up with the Fatty and Nina for some tasty...

nina — ...Chipotle burritos (that are bigger than your head).

emma, lorelei — Later that night, I hung out with Em & Lo.

fatty — And then went and saw Fatty's band play at Sin-e.

Wednesday, February 11th

me, nina — My friend Sarah was working for some fancy PR company during fashion week and invited me to some really exclusive party that MAC cosmetics was throwing. I couldn't care less, but a party's a party, right? I invited Nina (under the proviso that she's wear a dirty shirt). Nina doesn't disappoint.

Glam lives? Huh?

MAC had all these celebrity sponsors there, Boy George, Missy Elliot, Christina Aguilera, Linda Evangelista, etc. But they just sort of hid out in the corner and didn't intermingle (not that I can blame them). So instead of some hot celebrity akshun, here's a crowd shot. Yay.

Once that party was in full swing, I decided it was time to unveil my new Spring Collection 2004.

Top-button, velour shirt, the stylist's own; skull n' bones concert -tee, Piebald ($10); white canvas belt, some Chinee lady on Canal Street ($1). Champagne flute crammed down front of pants for effect.

aurea, nina, tiffany — Nina, Aurea and Tiffany croon in approval!

After an hour or so we got bored (not to mention totally train-wreck shithammered on free champagne) and left. Fashion schmashion.

Thursday, February 12th

emilie — On Thurday night I headed to Remote Lounge for some good ol' fashioned Sid & Buddy karaoke. And lookee, lookee! I ran into Emilie and her man Kevin (who was in town visiting from Utah)!

Hahaha. Buddy's photographer friend emailed me this pic a few days later. Check me out rocking with a can of beer. I look like a Pabst's commercial. After karaoke I headed over to Lit to see what was shaking.

This photo is a perfect metaphor for what Lit's like sometimes: A turd on the edge of the toilet seat of your otherwise perfect night. (Hmmm...maybe this comparison would make more sense if the toilet wasn't also filled with vomit. Gross).

stephie — Wednesday I went out to NJ to visit my friend Scott who was ill and laid up at his sister's house down the street. Here's Steph with her son Matthew (who you may remember from way back in the day).

me, vin — Wednesday night I came back into town and met up with Vin for some old school Cherry Tavern action.

vin — The Tijuana Special: A shot of tequila and a can of Tecate for $5. (That shit was $3 back in the day).

amber, vin — Amber met up with us. Here's Vin wishing he had more tequila.

amber, me, vin — Then we bundled up (so fuuuuucking cold out)...

Saturday, February 21st

mandy, vin — On Saturday night Vin, Mandy and I went over to meet a few people at Beauty Bar.

geordon, sarah — Turns out that the brand new party Sarah was DJing was the the very first of the now legendary MisShapes party. We got there just in time to catch the last of Sarah's first set. Here's Sarah with Geordon.

mandy, vin — ...we headed to some reported band's afterparty that was taking place at some weird Chinese afterhours club that was (of all places) on my block! The party was dead and over when we got there so instead we just fucked off and took artsy pictures through the fish tank there before calling it a night.

Sunday, February 22nd

nina, sarah — I'd been interviewing for a job to help out a company called Watson Adventures. Before hiring me, Bret, the owner, suggested I participate in one of the hunts they organize. So Sarah, Nina and I headed up to the medieval museum at the Cloisters.
