I met up with Sarah at Spin's fancy offices.

Special Guest Commentary from Grant Stoddard via IM: "As we learned early on, the main perk of bartending is having total control of the juke box *and* full license to play air guitar along to the metal anthems you select."

(Major bonus points taken away from whoever took this pic and managed to almost crop me completely out while I'm making what looks like it could've been the best "metal face" I've ever pulled. Curse you!)

Vin and Alison (with Tara hiding over on the right).

Check this out: Fatty found his old drivers license back from his hair metal days. He played lead axe (that's guitar) for the infamous band "Nasty Magic." (And no I'm not kidding. Do you really think I could've made that name up?)
metal
After dinner, David and I hopped the L train and headed DEEP into Brooklyn to attend Pierre's party - shown here posing with Vin.

This is the bit where 250 New Yorkers pay homage to a Neon sign...as Owen deadpans (every week) "Neon.....it's a gas!"

Proprietor and emcee "Owen the Brummie" gives madd props where madd props is due with a double index finger hail. This was the exact moment where the Arlene Grocery foundations were thoroughly shaken for the first of four times on that fateful evening.

NIPPLE!!!

BeeBatch and JimJazz represent on the Miami Vice tip like Crockett & Tubs...um, except that we're both really white.

Grant Stoddard looking for a swordfight. (This kid's always looking for a "swordfight" if you know what I'm saying...)
metal
Okay, see the kid in the wife beater and silky track suit pants? So he was totally rocking out to the show and Amanda nudged us and was like "Yo, that kid's totally popping a metal boner." We looked over at him, nodded in agreement, and then turned our attention back to the show.

That's when Amanda nudged us again, this time directing our gaze with a finger pointed at his crotch and said "No, look...he's really got a boner!" We had assumed Amanda was talking about a "figurative metal boner" (which we all had) but this was a "literal, honest-to-goodness, metal-boner." So let that be a warning to you, if you plan on seeing the metal-wizardry that is SPEL, make sure to wear loose-fitting clothes from the waist down.
metal
Case in point, here's one last pic. C'mon, admit it. You're hard right now, aren't you?
metal
Why yes, it is real sateen. Why do you ask?
metal
Teixeira, Stoddard (and me).
metal
Bellies full of diner grease, we hit the road again towards Lisa's...
metal
Dave G (The Ladies' Choice) has got to get with the program! He's all in the background making his "Party Guy Face" when we clearly told him that it was a "Blue Steel" moment.
metal
Me singing Billy Idol's 'Dancing With Myself' (check out Lola rocking out in the background. Schweet.)
metal
Muppet Man had no idea there was ROKK behind him!
metal
Amy and Kara. This was taken at Amy's house while we were "warming up" for our evening out.
