The March Roundup

Here they are: all the photos from March that don't get their own entry but still deserve a lil' loving.

Tuesday March, 2nd

chris a, grant
Chris the Greek was up visiting from DC to attend Grant's "Welcome Back from Hell-A" party. Here we are sending him off after some Tuesday morning brunch (which, is one of the finer points of not having a day job).
katie, siege
Later that evening, I met up with Siege and Katie in Greenwich Village for a lil' dinner celebrating Siege's birthday (this one for the people that weren't able to attend the his Stripper Birthday party at good ol' Pumps in Brooklyn).
siege
Siege had recently been hired by a fashion magazine to do a shoot that featured "wiglets." Which are little tiny wigs that apparently help bald people look like they have either a Hitler haircut or a mohawk. (Uh, wiglets? What the fuck is wrong with people?) We had no choice but to pass them around the table.
siege
Siegelet.
me
Me-let.
wig ˆ me
Uhhhh, Siege's-friend-let.
mohawk, siege
And here's the mohawk version. This one only worked out on Siege.
katie, siege
Corn dogs and deepthroating - it's like a perfect birthday dream.
katie, siege
Here's Siege at the end of our meal enjoying his "baked potato trailer park ice cream cake." Happy Birthday, you fucking twisted freak .

Wednesday, March 3rd

Hey, check me out - new shoes. Er, not really. Grant was looking at suits in some store and I decided to feel out my inner "Miami Grampa."

Friday, March 5th

sarah d, tiffany
Friday I went to Lolita's to wish Tiffany a happy birthday! Wooo. Here's the birthday girl with Sarah and some guy who'd wired his cell phone so that he could make calls on that old school red phone you see him clutching.
sarah d, tiffany
Yeah! Yeah! Faux-lesbanism! That's more like it. Happy birthday, Tiff!

Saturday, March 6th

Back in early March I was being interviewed as a candidate to take over the operations for small NYC company that creates and hosts scavenger hunts around the city. (I ended up taking the job, but was only there for three months before I was offered a job out in San Francisco - which is where I'm writing this from). Anyway, while I was interviewing with them, I was invited out to check out one of their scavenger hunts that they were holding at the Museum of Natural History. So I headed up there to check it out with Grant and my favorite married couple David and Miye.
grant, miye
After the hunt, we went back to David & Miye's apartment sans David (who's a massage therapist and he'd gotten called away to give a massage in the middle of our hunt). Grant spent the majority of our time their trying to convince Miye...
grant, miye
...to show us her tits. Hahahah.

Monday, March 8th

fatty
Hey, it's a Monday morning we went to hang out at Fatty's apartment and were surprised to actually find the Fatty there! He quit his jobby-job, remember? Woooo!
liz, seth
Monday night we all headed over to see Frank and Seth (who was in town from Boston) sit in with some hot band over in jazz/blues bar in on Grove Street in Greenwich Village.
seth
Here's Seth doing Stevie proud on the mic.

Check out Grant: feeling the jazz (with his anus).

Tuesday, March 9th

grant, vin
Tuesday night, I went with these two fucking characters over to the Continental on Bowery to see...
fatty
Fatty's band play!
me, vin
And then Vin and I headed over to Pianos to meet up with...
vin
...Vin and Spring.

Wednesday, March 10th

If your furnace ever goes out - you gotta call up these guys. Why, you ask?
Because *God* rides muthafucking shotgun when they roll.
There's God's address. You know, just in case those prayers aren't working out for you.
First "God is My Van's Co-Pilot," then this? I heart NY.

Sunday, March 14th

me, vin
On Sunday evening, Vin and I headed over to the Tribecca Grand to see...

...Sarah DJ some party with two of The Smiths. (No, not Morrissey. Some other two guys).
amber, jen dolloff, me
Look! It's crazy Amber and Jen D.

Tuesday, March 16th

sarah, victoria lau
On Tuesday, Victoria (the bestest roommate ever) cooked a special dinner and invited some people to our apartment to celebrate the fact that I ended up being offered the job to run the scavenger hunt company.
Vic's famous chicken (known as "THE CONVERTER" because of its enticing aroma which has cased several vegetarians to let flesh pass their lips) and her fancily arranged salads.
grant, sarah
Sarah made the mistake of bending at the waist to lean into the frame and got her izzass smizzacked by tha Grizza.

Wednesday, March 24th

On Wednesday night, Colin's band played their first gig at Pianos. I only went because I heard their guitar player looked like Funky Winkerbean.
colin
Okay, okay and to make jokes about Colin's hair. (You know I love you, Big Daddy).

Thursday, March 25th

fatty, grant, vin
Thursday night we all met up at B-Side. Here's Fatty, Grant and Vin.
amber, fatty, grant
Then Amber joined us.

Hahaha.

Then, somehow, we all ended up getting really, really drunk.

grant, mohawk
Grant had recently given himself a Travis Bickle-inspired haircut and it was making him act, well, funny. Even with a "pre-crushed" can, Grant almost managed to...
grant, mohawk
...concuss himself out as rammed the can into his head full-force while doing the old "Hey look at me! I'm the guy with a mohawk who crushes cans on his head" trick.
amber, fatty
Fatty took the less violent approach and actually succeeded by realizing that starting with the can touching your head would work better than starting out holding the can fourteen inches away.
dave g, grant
Of course Dave (The Ladies' Choice) was there. C'mon, now! You didn't really thing he'd miss a can-crushing, did you?
fatty, grant, jen c
This was too fucking funny: Jen Choi and Amber were arguing over who should get to drink an errant shot of whiskey (that was likley there because we're all girly men who were too pussy to drink it). Jen Choi was like "How about we each drink half?" Amber was like "Sounds good. Here, I'll drink the first half." Then after pausing for a moment, she yelled "SUCKER!" and shot the shot. I managed to catch Jen's face right when she started to realize she'd been had. That just goes to prove the old adage: Never trust a heavily tattooed girl in a hot-pink lycra shirt to share her whiskey.

amber, vin
Afterwards, Grant and Jen Choi pussed out and went back to my apartment to crash (Grant had just got back from LA and was crashing in my spare bedroom because he still a subletter in his place) and Vin, Amber and I went on to Lit to be idiots and dance. Check out Vin's raver-face. So awesome.
me, vin
(Dear San Loco, How come when I'm drunk I can't help but eat you even though I know you always make feel sick? Your Friend, Brian.) After dos guaco tacos, Vin asked if he could crash on my couch because it was too late to bother going all the way back out to Brooklyn.
me ˆ vin
grant, jen c, vin
Oh, and because he was still shit-hammered and decided that it would be really funny for me to take a picture of him sneaking into my spare bedroom and waking Grant from his drunken slumber by attacking him "Evil Tiger Ninja" style. Hahah. This picture doesn't even begin to convey how "not ok" with this Grant was.

Friday, March 26th

fatty, grant
On Friday, a whole bunch of us headed over to Arlene's Grocery to see Grant join Fatty in playing with Fireworks Go Up for the first time. (After only five or six appearances as their rhythm guitarist, Grant left due to "creative differences.") Boo.

There's Little Fatty in the background! Then Pepper (wife of Little Fatty), Frank, Liz, Regular-sized Fatty and me.

Saturday, March 27th

andy f
On Saturday night, a bunch of us headed up to the upper West Side for a dinner party at Pepper and Lil' Fatty's aparment.
fatty, grant
Despite the fancy dress shirts we wore because of Pepper insistence that they would help us "fit in better," we soooo didn't fit in. (Best photo ever).
grant, mohawk
And once we'd filled our gullets with delicious party food, we retreated to the safety of the coatroom and entertained ourselves. Here's Grant rocking out on a headless Steinberger electric bass (c'mon, you know you love Winger).
fatty
And then Fatty made Pepper's stuffed animals totally get in on on top of everyone's coats. Man, if the people out there in the party only knew!
frank, grant
Frank eventually joined us, and our little loser, anti-party started giving the real party a run for it's money.
pepper
Even the hostess sneaked back to hang out (and to compliment us on our shirts).
frank
"Hey Frank, play that one Kings X song that you always play any time there's a guitar. Oh, and could you make sure you make your guitar-face? Yeah, that's it. Thanks."

Monday, March 29th

On Monday night, I did something horrible - I cheated on Sid N' Buddy. That's right, I frequented another karaoke night! Noooo! Here's Amanda, of "shows her boobs" fame getting silly on the mic.
me
Me and Kehau (who will be shocked that I actually remember her name if she ever sees this. I told you I'm good with names).
dan s
Holy fucking shit, it's Dan.
dan s
Sharkey Favorite, boy-ee. (Oh, and don't bother asking about the t-shirt girl on his site. He doesn't even know her.)
Sketchmaster Jimmy! I bet if I told you that this kid once allegedly stole something from a dead person, like - as in he opened a coffin and took something out of their cold, dead hands - you'd probably totally think I was kidding. That would be a good joke, thoug
Liz and a friend.
Yaaaay, karaoke! Happy March everyone!
