On Saturday morning we woke up to the sound of someone hitting the tiny gong at our weird mini-palace gates! I went out to investigate and it was the hotel staff setting up the 8am breakfast we'd ordered the night before out on the little island thingy in our pool!
I actually think Hampton Inn is THE JAM. Check out the situation in the breakfast nook in the morning: They have a fridge filled with microwavable baggies with numbers on them.
The contents of the numbered bags correspond to the food items in these numbered pictures! Just throw a bag in the microwave, press the button on the microwave that corresponds to the number on the bag you selected and- SHAZAM - your breakfast is cooked perfectly a couple seconds later and all it took was the press of a single button. Whoever designed this for them is a genius. For seriously.
I woke up at 6:45am the next morning, showered, checked out of my hotel and hired a taxi to take me to the ferry port so I could catch the boat to Sharm El Sheikh (the southern-most tip of the Sinai Peninsula). We got the ferry and it was closed. My driver didn't know why, so we drove around to a whole bunch of other places and finally learned that all ferry service was suspended for the next week (and we never did find out why).
I literally couldn't comprehend the fact that the people that live in this town, a town that pretty much revolves around catering to the tourists that travel here to TAKE THE FERRY, didn't really think it was their business to know that they FERRY WASN'T RUNNING! Haha. I've since been told that this is a very "Egyptian" thing. Which isn't a criticism - it's just one of those things that is good to learn because than you can stop stressing out about it and learn to laugh about it and realize that it's the reason you're traveling in the first place.
After a couple hours of playing Rockband, we decided to continue to our refusal to acknowledge conventional adulthood by making giant blueberry pancakes for lunch.

I was planning on eating somthing late save room for the food at Lisa's house, but when I saw Chicken Fried Steak on the menu (served w/ 2 eggs and hashbrowns), I couldn't resist.
