Early evening at Pierot. The free booze was flowing like mud at this point so a few us told the bartenter to just keep putting shots of vodka on the bar and we started passing them out throughout the party. Things go ugly quick.
By the time we got there, shit was already in full effect. Check out the homemade "Diamonds and Pearls" Prom-theme banner hanging in the background. Noice!
Q: What's funnier than eight dudes jumping out of a van and crashing a party? A: Eight dudes crashing a party empty-handed and quickly proceeding to drink all the beer that other people brought. Doh!
Fast-forward five days to Thursday. The show is being re-aired for the third time in a week and this time we gathered at the swank digs of Tony Meyer (lead Spring Street investor and all around macking pimp...seriously, this guy puts Bruce Wayne to shame).
I had been in bed sick for a week, but I was going to be damned if I missed gathering with my co-workers at Nerve's swanky SoHo offices to watch the first ever airing on Saturday the 19th.
So on Saturday afternoon, Vin gets a call from this German guy Ralf who's a photographer that we met at our friend Chris' 4th of July party. Ralf showed up to Chris' party with all these hot model chicks and I guess Vin was like "Yo, who are all those girls?" and Ralf was like (in thick German accent) "They are my girls. If you want, when I have pahty, I will call you and invite you to pahty and you can meet these girls und more." Vin was like "Yeah, okay dude." 9 months and 7 days later, Ralf called and invited us to his housewarming pahty.
Bar #1 - Remote Lounge, 12:30am: Nerve is throwing a party here in late February so a bunch of the Nerve crew met up here to check out their digs. Rufus' friend was promoting the place and told us a secret word that made all drinks a "two for one" special. Nice!
We had more than 500 strangers come through our house. The basement was out of hand, you couldn't even move down there. If anyone knows who that goofy, smiling kid in the front of this picture is, email me about him too. He's funny. (Update November 19, 2001: So as I'm putting this site back up online, I realize that I've since realized who that goofy kid in the front is...in fact, now I live with him. It's no other but Andy Barlow. How funny is that?)
That's my friend Emily there in the green circle. She braved a 6 hour bus ride from Boston to come down and see me and for that she rocks. She came down with her friend Lisa (girl in the pink circle) who ended up hooking up on the dance floor in the basement with a stranger. After making out with him on our (dimly lit) basement dancefloor, Lisa asked her mystery make out man if he'd like to go outside and have a cigarette with her. But as soon as she got him outside in the light and got a good look at him, she realized he wasn't nearly as cute as she'd though. So standing there outside with him she told him "Oh! Hold on a second..." then walked back into the party and never came back.
