Oh, and Edie was there and rocking the school bus outfit that Meredith hand-made for her for halloween. Hahaha. Who's a cute little WienerBus?
edie
Watch out! They'll lick the shit outta your face!
edie
Animal FunTime Party House got even better when Leigh came by and dropped off Edie off with us! Look how excited Meredith is to have two little lap-weasels!
edie
Ben Apple, Johan Bayer (with a gay arm! Thanks for pointing out that that's not Matt, Sarah! Ha!), Jenny Penny and Edie!
edie
Meredith and Edie.
edie
When we got home, Edie was happy to see us.
edie
Gotcha!
edie
Here's me wearing (and Edie running away from!) a cougar costume! Meredith ordered this because she needed to make a giant, animatronic cougar that gives hugs for graduate school. (Yes, I'm serious! The finished product was called "Canoodling Cougar!")
edie
I can haz a stick?

Something must've happened where I accidentally deleted a bunch of pictures because I don't have ANY photos from Thanksgiving! Boo! But moving on, here's a picture of the happiest dog you've ever seen.
edie
...I smashed her face!
edie
Edie came out to New Jersey for Thanksgiving with me! (Leigh was away and we were dog-sitting!). When I got home from the diner...

edie
...and they made friends. (And by "friends" I mean Edie prodded Ratso in the a-hole with her nose).
edie
This is my favorite photo of Edie ever! Because you can see how silky and shiny and how long and wiener-y she is!
edie
Eventually Edie got over her shyness...
edie
...she ran away and hid behind Meredith! Hahaha. I love how you can just see her beady little eyes peeking up over Mer's shoulder.
edie
She came in for a closer look...
edie
On Thursday we were dog-sitting Edie again and we decided to introduce her to Ratso. Edie was interested, but kept a skeptical distance.
edie
...and then spent some quality time saying goodbye to Edie...
edie
Goodbye, Edie! We'll miss you!
edie
Mom's home! Leigh came over to pick up Edie and she and Meredith modeled their matching shades. I love how Edie's sunglasses are sitting on her snout and her little doggy legs are just hanging down all slack. Hahaha. Best. Photo. Ever!
edie
Ready for bed, weiner-dog? Ok, then go ahead and tuck yerself in!
edie
Meredith shows off her newly-cleaned teeth, courtesy of Edie.
edie
Edie's a face-licker, alright.
edie
Edie climbs under the sheet head-first, makes a u-turn, and then pokes her lil' face out. Adorable.
edie
Dogs! Fighting tiny dogs! (In sweaters!)
edie
...Monkey (who was also wearing a dog sweater!) and she and Edie were thick as (dog-wrestling) thieves for the rest of the night.
edie
We were dog-sitting Edie so we made sure we dressed her up in her best Bill Cosby sweater so she could be "Dog Cosby" for Halloween!
edie
Hahaha.
edie
...Edie could spend some QT together. (Leigh was traveling again and so we got Edie for a few more days! Yay!)
edie
Edie!
edie
Sunday we went to a meeewvie. Leigh holding up the snuck-in (and incredibly chill) Edie in her lil' wiener-sweater!
edie
HAHAHAHAHA. Edie's totally like, "FUCK! How in the world am I going to get them to guess this one?"
edie
But then she figured out that it was for biting.
edie
We gave her her very own giant cheeseburger (CD carrying case) and she was perplexed.
edie
...which we later realized pretty much exactly matched Meredith's little blue windbreaker!
edie
Check out Edie showing off her little blue windbreaker...
edie
...and wriggled under the covers and slid down to the foot of the bed! Hahahaha.
edie
...she got out of the way...
edie
Leigh lets Edie sleep in the bed and Edie made it pretty clear that she expected as much from us. Daschunds were bred so that they'd be able to chase animals into holes and they apparently still love to burrow. As soon as Edie saw that I was coming to bed...
edie
Fwiends!
edie
She missed Meredith (Awwwww!) so she dragged them in there because they must've smelled like Meredith (Yep, Meredith smells like feet!)!
edie
On Wednesday, Meredith and I got ourselves a lil' visitor! Edie! Leigh was going out of town on and off for a few weeks and we happily agreed to look after her pooch. Here she is making herself right at home.
edie
There were lots o' dogs.
edie
...Leigh attacked! Vampire bite to the doggie snout!
edie
She snuggled up with Edie just long enough to lure her into a false sense of security and when she finally let her lil' doggie guard down...
edie
Leigh was exhausted from her artistic outpouring and retired to the couch.
edie
The room was so overwhelmed by artful majesty that Meredith had to shield Edie's eyes (lest she be blinded by TRUTH!)
edie
Meredith models the "Periwinkle Pillbox Pile" version of the hat while Edie wonders if we've all lost our fucking minds.
edie
After we freed her she retreated to the couch with Meredith where she could keep a watchful eye on us from a safe distance.
edie
Yay, shiny turquoise doggy dress!
edie
Edie was a good sport about it, but you could tell she wasn't really feeling her new outfit. Every time she moved, the wrap would loudly crinkle and she'd whip her head around like "Yo, what the fuck?"
edie
Edie was exploring our new apartment and was really intrigued by a roll of saran wrap that she found (that'd we'd used to wrap boxes in our recent move). So I took it upon myself to use the packing-wrap to make Edie a little doggie outfit.
edie
After Kate's we all headed back over to our new apartment...
edie
...then distributed some kisses!
edie
She drank a little water...
edie
After our table had been cleared of food, and after looking around to make sure the coast was clear (dog in a restaurant = health code violation!), we had a special out-of-the-bag surprise visit from Edie!
edie
And they both ran over to wish the birthday girl a happy birthday!
edie
Edie was there.
edie
All of the gender-bending left Edie confused. Hahaha.
edie
All of the puppy-bullying tired Piper out right-quick and a few minutes later...
edie
...and Leigh (seen here doing her best Coldstare! Icy!) was there with her brand new dappled daschund puppy Edie! Look at her teeny, tiny little weiner body! Go ahead: Awwwwwww!
edie
As "those two" got closer, we realized it was Ellen and Leigh and that we'd just been busted checking out our own friends! Ellen was there with Piper...
edie
Edie (the tiny little puppy) kept bullying Piper. She'd lay in the grass and feign indifference, but then as soon as Piper wandered into "striking range"...
edie
...SHA-POW! She'd leap into action and attack! Eventually, Piper was preemptively laying down and being like "Fuck it. You win. I'm on the ground already so you don't have to knock me over, ok?"
edie
Later that afternoon, Mer and I went to Tompkins Square to relax in the grass and read. We looked up from our books and saw two totally hot chicks crossing the park with tiny dogs. We were like "Whoa, check out those two."
edie
Nice to meet you, Edie! Welcome to New York!
edie
Sniffing majestically.
edie
Showing off her wienertude.
edie
Smells like puppy.
edie
Ok, now back to puppies and pink blankets.
edie
Oh, hai!
edie
Wave goodbye!
edie
Making friends.
edie
Even as a puppy, Edie was into the sneak-attack French kiss. Here's me artfully dodging just in time!
edie
Then we tipped over the box so she could come out and say hi but she was a little bit shy.
edie
Buddies.
edie
Until Leigh managed to coax her out with her favorite stuffed animal.
edie
I know all puppies are cute, but c'mon!
edie
...and instantly weaseled her weaselly body into my heart.
edie
Edie popped up...blinked adorably (awwww)....
edie
I showed up right as Leigh was taking her out of the box! (Not really!).
edie
Flying weiner! (See, like I said - not too much of a narrative, just cute overload.)
edie
Who's got a little wiener body? Who does? Who does?
edie
Leigh and Edie.
edie
Hahaha.
edie
Scooped up!
edie
Every photo like this just makes me want to smash her little puppy head.
