a thing in 86 photos in 2009 edie showing 2009 only · show all years Edie enjoys her bag so much that she'll continue to hang out inside even after arriving. Later that night we emailed Leigh the picture of the dogs we met and she texted us this photos of the hounds back in NYC. Haha. Edie love a mini bagel. Dogs, in general, aren't big fans of rock shows. I think Dana really captured her dog nature! Later that night I hung out with Leigh and Edie (which was great timing on my part because I was wearing my Edie shirt !). We were dogsitting Edie so there were plenty of doogs to go around. On Saturday afternoon my parents came into town to see our honeymoon photos and have dinner. Leigh explained this to us and then demonstrated. "See? Stackable hounds!" Hahaha. Leigh's building has a lot of stairs. The dogs can climb UP stairs, but they have trouble descending steep stairs and need to be carried down them (because of their midgety legs and long wienery bodies). Turns out that the easiest way to get both dogs downstairs for a walk is TO STACK THEM! ...to pick up Maddy! Leigh and Scott had graciously agreed to watch our hound for us while we were away getting married on on our honeymoon ! Dog park. Thai feast for lunch! Dogs couch-battling and honking at each other. We dog-napped Edie! Nap time with a buddy. Edie got a new bed and it's like a padded little dog box. I love her right-angle back! Aw. Ooooh, Edie in trouble! Whenever Edie's been REALLY bad, she gets the ultimate punishment: picked up in her skin suit! Dana painted a portrait of Edie and Edie got her very own portrait t-shirt ! On Sunday morning we put the dogs in bags (no cages but bags are ok!)... Edie prefers to referee. Wiener parade! Three-wiener party! Watering the hounds. We also had Edie with us! Edie enjoys being in a bag! Edie and Meredith wishing me a happy July 1st. Good morning! Haha. Couch doogs. These two guys even nap together all the time. Such buds. Badger dogs! All wiener dogs are always so excited to see other wiener dogs. They always run across the park to investigate. Look who was waiting for me when I got home in the middle of the night. Awwww. A North American Silky-haired Bed-Weasel! ...Edie did her impression of Triumph, The Insult Comic Dog! She even had a little piece of rawhide for a cigar. Spot on! Edie fell asleep resting her chin in a sunbeam on the stairs. A-dorable. My absolute favorite photo of Edie and Maddy. Awwww. Yes, hello? Us? Check out these dog-buds. Chilling. Then later that night, Lisa and Pauly (and Pizza the dog!) came over for Family Night. DOWN HOUND! Hahaha. Let me taste that delicious nose of yours! Funnily enough, I don't think this is the first time he's had two wieners in his face! Ba-dum-cha! I went into my office in the evening and found both of the dogs burrowing into the comforter on the couch. Edie had her face tucked under the edge... These two were very interested in the smell of frying falafel. Mmmm. Sarah come over to hang out. Happy April 2009! Squinty. Total buddies. We arrived back at the apartment to find these two curled up in the afternoon sun. Love that turkey bone! Rachael come over at eight and made friends with Edie (who has an angel halo in this photo because she's a little angle!). Pauly is appalled. And wiener-covered. Wiener dogs on the move. ...to attend Daschund Day in Washington Square Park ! So much awesome in my living room it's unbelievable. Just a basic Wednesday night hang. You literally can't have a bad day with these guys around. Three clean noses! ...I found these two napping in the sunshine in the their matching outfits. Reeee-diculous. When I came home on Sunday... No, I ATTACK YOU ! I ATTACK YOU! Ten hours later and they're still at it. Although, they moved the BATTLE ARENA to the much larger couch. Ear cleanse deluxe! No charge for you! Nose licking retaliation. BAP! Stubby brass paw to the ear! When these two fight, they make weird honking noises and if you were in the other room you would think it was geese and not dogs. Total weirdos. Hahaha. This photo makes me laugh out loud. (I also like how there's a rat in the background.) Is adorable? OMG! Meredith's latest CRAFTQUEST! at the time was sewing matching outfits for the dogs. Back at the apartment later that night, we snuggled with dogs... Aw, really? On my way out the apartment on Monday morning I walked into the living room and these two were just sitting on the couch like this side by side. Total buds. Edie was there too. It was a regular dog party. On Sunday we took the dogs to the dog park together for the first time! Look at how Maddy used to fall asleep! All balled up light a little speckled hedgehog. Such winning hounds. Speckly pals. ...and then they settled in together. Edie turned in circles padding the bed down... I told Leigh that Edie and Maddy had become buds in her absence and put the dog-bed on the couch to demonstrate. Taking the doogs out for their first walk together in the Stuytown courtyard. Dog friends? ...and was surprised to find that Edie (who you can see has her dog-toenails painted!) considered my lap off-limits to Maddy. Haha. MY LAP! Maddy was forced to slink away in what is probably the most adorable picture of dejection ever taken. On Sunday afternoon, Scott brought Edie over to our apartment so she could meet Maddy. Maddy was as interested as she was concerned and kept getting chased in worried circles by Edie. Look at her eyes in this photo. Haha. But a couple minutes later, they were both excited to learn that my lap has a two-wiener capacity. She kept seeking refuge in my lap...
