On Sunday morning Meredith dropped off Major for a day of dogsitting so she could spend Mother's Day with her family. Major had a bit of a what you'd call a "leaky penis" problem so Meredith made him a velcro band with bananas on it so he wouldn't nervously dribble pee all over my apt. On Saturday morning Meredith came over with Major and she brought along matching Hawaiin shirts for the dogs to wear to the Washington Square Park Dachshund Meetup. (Maddy is always so bummed when I put her in any kind of costume.). "Dad, please take this off me." In the end, we decided to take them over in the NUDE! They were so happy to be walking crosstown together. Adorable. Maddy's feeling were hurt. lol. She stuck around at my apartment to watch the hounds... On Saturday Meredith came over with her new wire-haired dachshund, Major! ...with Matt to visit Ellen! Went north out of the city to visit Ellen and Hans at their new home for the first time! Congrats, you two! Meredith was there and was one day away from leaving for her trip to Myanmar to visit Jack . Maddy made a wiener bud. Such majestic beasts! Sunday morning Maddy was hanging out with her Mexican ceramic counterpart. Maddy was very interested and gentle! They had some cute interspecies nose bumping before moving on our way! Wiener dog reunion! Spent the evening down the street from my parent's place hanging out with Uncle Bruce! Dexter and Maddy are buds. Maddy ran into her favorite pack of Poms on our walk! She feel asleep on my couch cuddling Maddy her feets! On Monday evening I brought Maddy over to Ellen's for a dog hang. Nest dog is excited to meet you. Maddy love laying on my Biomat heating pad. "Turn on, please?" ...with my big-nose buddy before a long night out. Doesn't want to go outside in the cold! So tired from chasing squirrels all afternoon. Maddy was so excited to go out into their backyard where she can chase squirrels free-range. We did a little pre-gaming at my place... Took these two ladies on a long walk over to the pet store on 9th Street... Friday morning double hound walk! Hanging with my sleepy buddy in the afternoon. Saw Jane Anne on Monday and she got to do the double-dachshund cuddle. Sunday snugglers. Such a pillow-sitter. ...so neither of these ladies wanted to go outside. (I set Edie up with a heating pad for her sore back). Dachshund yin & yang. Held up a piece of chicken in the air to get this photo of these two looking like well behaved dogs. Meredith had recently broken up with Dylan and our HEARTBREAK HOTEL agreement always stands so she came to stay on the couch for a few days and took turns holding the dogs until she felt better. City dogs dying to be let off leash! Wiener walkin. Started the month off strong with a double dog hang Gurj slumber party. After walking these ladies... Dog-gang hang! Perfect Friday summer weather. Walked these two characters... Heard some commotion in the evening and walked into my office to see that Maddy had caught and killed a mouse. So proud! Tuesday morning dachshund / chicken standoff. Got some real good reading in with my reading partner. Leigh came over for a hang and to drop off an Edie for me to watch for a bit. ...but they ended up becoming best buds! Henry was feeling a little shy around Maddy... Took Maddy out for a walk and all she did was stand 10 feet away from my door and watch rats run around deep inside this face-sized hole in the sidewalk. Murder on her mind. Stopped back at home to hang with the monkeys (Edie's butt on the pillow! Ha!) The looks Maddy gives me are very specific. This one: Got more bone? This one finish. They are hilarious to walk together. They are always trying to race ahead in front of each other. I'm the leader of the pack. No, I'M the leader of the pack! ...AND Edie! Hahah. Such cuddle buddies. Laid down for a little Sunday couch nap, and was quickly joined by Maddy... Nice, lil Sunday. Oh, I amuse you? Like a clown? Some kind of clown to you? Pretty much any sound effect works, actually. Play opera while looking at this photo and I guarantee you will crack up. Edie hops up onto his lap every chance she gets. Grant is in denial about liking dogs, but they sure like him. Hahah. Uh, little help please? Came home on Saturday afternoon to find Maddy with her head stuck through the blanket-hole again. ...the Sisters Houndine. Alysha was in town and came for a visit on Friday night. She tried my Kasina Mind Machine and got some quality hang time with... Brought the pack back to mine to hang. On Wednesday afternoon I walked to Washington Square Park to meet up with Ellen. We had 4 dogs between us. Always love waking up to find out what configuration of blankets and butt-to-butt arrangements these two have come up with over night. Thank you, sir. Conked out! Three-dog couch party Why he wearing that hat? Don't ask me! Haha. These two! Spent Sunday snoozing on the couch and reading with these two wizards. ...relaxing. ..of exactly how skilled my wiener dog is at... Here are a few different pictures I took... Had this lil beauty snoozing on the couch next to me the whole time. Took Maddy for a Christmas evening walk and spotted the chickens out in the garden. Christmas Murder on her mind. I also got this very excellent handset for my cell phone! Maddy was getting stressed out with The Dude trying to play puppy games with her so she sought out... ...the safety of higher ground! ...and bone-chewin! After dropping Maddy over at Leigh's, she settled in for some butt-touchin'... Who wants a treat? Work for it!
