Even the temporary sign is temporary. Walking the dog that evening, I admired this sign on a mobile hot water heater parked on the block. Up early again on Sunday morning... On Friday, I went up to Inwood for my second kinesiology session with Jeffrey Main . Cleaning out the attic one box at a time. Good stuff. Another Voltaic charger already up on the way. The entire boardwalk was washed away except where the light pole is screwed in. Similarly... Carting sand back to the beach one wheelbarrow at a time. Oh, Beach 113 Street. That's very helpful. ...taking me on a long walk over to East River park to chase squirrels. Why just these five? On Monday afternoon I biked up to StyleCaster's office for a chat. RIP Bowery Diner. Contaminated by flood water. Do not eat. It's good to be home. This is the last pic I snapped before bundling up with Maddy (no power = no heat!) and going to sleep. ...and then went to see Cloud Atlas with Grant. The movies were totally empty... On my walk home, I tried to cut through Tompkins Park, but the gates were locked... ...due to a storm called Hurricane Sandy that might be headed NYC's way. (This was the first indication that maybe I should start paying attention to all of the warnings about the upcoming storm.) Bumper sticker on my cab ride to the airport. Afterwards, we headed downtown to a bar on Broadway. After my session, I headed back home to get packed to go out on tour with the All-American Rejects ! Happy September, 2012! ...took the subway up to Washington Heights... Awesome road sign. ...just in time to catch sunrise. EAT REAL FOOD. ...then met up with Vin and we walked down to the Angelica to see The Queen of Versailles. . Great movie. If you cannot appreciate the abundance you already have in your life, more of anything won't make you any happier. Later that evening we went to the Comedy Cellar to check out the 10pm show! ...to The New York Botanical Garden ! CLEVELAND ROCKS! Welcome to Cleveland! You have now arrived in a city where apparently these two things go together. On Wednesday I rented Zipcar and took Leigh out to the beach for an early birthday celebration. Best place to get morning bagels. ...and then got lunch at Quantum Leap. Mmmm. On Sunday Mer and I went to see Jiro Dreams of Sushi... ...and spent the afternoon working with a client. Saturday night line up. ...and added our names to the list of witnesses! There's even a hole there dedicated to Sarah & Ben! ...to meet with the other volunteers and set-up the main shrine room for the morning. ...and take the ferry over to Randall's Island to check out the Frieze Art Fair. One of these guys is doing his own thing! ...on The Art of Video Games ! After gearing up, we went over to the fantastically named Hayahay, for some breakfast. Awkward waving / thumbs up! Which is how we ended up at the totally amazing REGGAE GUESTHOUSE ! Biked to Yipit's offices in Flatiron... The worst part about my reading chair is when I turn to look out the window, this is what I see. Still open at 2:15am on a Sunday. Calling out to me. Good luck resisting when you know the change in your pockets could probably buy you at least TWO whole slices.
