On Wednesday I biked to Flatiron to meet with with Ilir, the founder of a start-up called MyPizza that had recently raised a small seed-round of funding.

They had just hired their fourth employee (Jen Burger!) and first full-time sales person. They've since changed their name to Slice are well-over a 100 employees and have $30MM in venture funding! I love that I get to work with baby companies and see them get big.

...and spent the afternoon helping them put together a plan for how they were going to invest their software engineering hours for the rest of the quarter. I love talking and problem-solving and drawing on whiteboards and feel blessed that I've found companies that invite me in to help solve their biggest problems.

Went into LeagueApps office on Tuesday afternoon the week after their company-wide strategy offsite.

Not only did they work together to define very specific, company-wide success metrics for the quarter, they made signs and hung them around the office so everyone knows the goal. (Quartly Goals: Sell 125k in new business. Launch 90% of the rev in the que. Keep 101% of revenue from churning.) Awesome to see a small, software company have explosive growth while tracking to profitability!
