The 2nd Fiasco Show and Matt Lesser's Birthday

On Friday night we all headed over to Rothko to see Fiasco's second show. (The turn out was pretty decent considering that it was the coldest day of the year so far. Ugh). Afterwards, we headed out to Galapogos to wish karaoke king, Matt Lesser (aka Sid of Sid and Buddy) a very happy birthday.

fatty, grant — Fiasco rocked it. And I even managed to grab a (yes, somewhat shoddy) pic of Grant pulling some DLR action on stage.

grant — Nick (who can't seem to pull any pose other than the "get a load of this guy" pose) and Grant.

me, sarah h — The guy in the black leather jacket was pretty much the drunkest ambulatory person I've ever seen in my life. All throughout the show he wove his way in and out of the audience, jumping around, spilling drinks and either routing for or heckling the band. (He was so drunk it wasn't clear what he was yelling. Just that he was very enthusiastic about whatever it was he was yelling.)

matt lesser — After the show, we hopped in a cab (too cold for the subway...holy Jesus!) and headed out to Williamsburg to help Matt Lesser celebrate his birthday in karaoke style.

me, seth — Never one to pass up an opp to rock the mic, Seth came with.

matt lesser — He even had a stool handy to help him pretend he was swimming!

me, meredith — Oh, payback! Nick gets slammed with a "get a load of this guy" times two.

larson — Next up on the mic was Capt. Larson. So I'm writing this on Jan 23rd, 2006, a little over a year later - anyway, last night I was up late, I have the flu and couldn't sleep, and I started watching late-night HBO. A movie that I hadn't seen in years came on and I thought to myself...

larson — ..."How is it that I never realized how much Larson looks like Marc Singer in his 1982 portrayal of Beastmaster?" Hahahaha.

ellen s, meredith — Meredith and Ellen Stagg.

goldteeth, matt coats — The night took a serious turn towards fun when Matt and Chris, hosts of the new Karaoke Killed the Cat Party (that still happens every Monday night at Pianos!) took the stage for their coreographed rendition of...

matt coats — These guys take karaoke to a whole new level.

goldteeth — For, seriously.

goldteeth — These guys put more into their karaoke performances than anybody I've ever seen.

matt coats — So if you're looking for a good karaoke time, go to Pianos and then head upstairs around 11:30. You won't be disappointed.

This kid was wasted. He went to sit down in this chair and just totally and completely missed. He landed flat on his tailbone and decided to just stay down. Ouch.

matt l, matt lesser, sid and buddy — Then Sid and Buddy got dressed up and joined the Karaoke Killed the Cat Crew on stage for what quickly turned into...
