And here they are doing "Sensosketch!" That's where you have to get your teammate to guess the answer by drawing on a piece of paper with your eyes CLOSED!
Oh, snap! Looks like they got a "Sculptorades" question! That's where you have to try to get your teammate to guess the answer to a question by sculpting it out of Cranium Clay with no talking, letters, or gestures! And the answer is...
After dinner, we put Pauline and Grammy Pam into a cab back to their hotel, met up with Catrinel and Meredith, and headed back to my apartment for a game of Cranium!
A few days later, Grant's mom (Pauline) and Grant's grandma Pam were in town visiting from England! (FYI, Grammy Pam, who I met back when we stopped in England during our European Vacation, TOTALLY reads this website! Hi Grammy Pam!) I met up with the three of them to do some NYC exploring! Pauline and Pam were pumped, but someone (hint: the guy in the middle) was being a Grumpy Gus! Here we are headed uptown on the subway to...
A few minutes later, we met up with Niki and Grant (who is clearly still starstruck in this photo) was like "YOU JUST MISSED MOLLY SUE! MOLLY SUE WAS JUST HERE!" and then recounted his whole "Molly Sue Experience" for Niki.
On Thursday night, I was walking down Ludlow Street with Grant and one of the girls who was a contestant on the show "America's Next Top Model" passed us and Grant started FREAKING OUT! "That's Mollie Sue! Holy shit, THAT WAS MOLLIE SUE!" (Grant's a HUGE fan of "America's Next Top Model" and he used to come over my apartment every single week to watch it with my roommate Niki). Anyway, he ran down the street and grabbed so he could tell her how much he loved her and so I could snap this photo of them together.
After Lucy's closed, she even hung out for the obligatory "holy shit, we're drunk" slice before heading back to BK. So awesome to see you, Kusum! Don't be a stranger!
...and asked her if she wanted to head downtown with us and find another place to keep drinking! At first she was like "No, no! I have to get up early tomorrow!", but after a lil' bit of peer pressure (not even all that much, actually. Anytime a person is stealing "drinks for the road" from a club, they're probably up to keep on partying), she agreed to come with us!
Grant wasn't about to miss out on the action and quickly sidled up behind BFJ and introduced himself by way of grinding up behind him on the dance floor!
Then he immediately sniped him with a lightning fast "get a load of this guy" for the cam! And then, just when you thought it couldn't happen again, he pulled off the comedy trifecta...
Later that night, we ran into Kusum Lynn! These days she's a big shot editor at fashion magazines, but I know her from all the way back in the college days when she used to do stuff like keg-stands! (Yep, check the last photo in the entry).
The bronksy from Dana seemed to magically transform Grant. As soon as she released his face from her bosom, he marched over to the shiny brass pole that was depressingly unoccupied (it's a porn-party, c'mon people!) and started swinging around it, showing off his moves back from the days when he and I were male strippers. (No, seriously).
...then let go with his hands and slowly slid down the pole (heh!) using only his thighs! (Tell the truth, Grizz...Did you end up taking that stripper jazzercise class with Ellen?)
Then, before he'd even gotten a chance to recover from the fact that his former intern was now a smut-mogul, Grant got introduced to Dana DeArmond, who is, in Grant's words, "the only woman in porn that I want to marry." Hahaha. Awwww, look how nervous he is about meeting her. Dana could tell Grant was feeling a little shy, so she tried to loosen him up by immediately giving him...
Here's Grant (making the most awesomely uncomfortable face) with his former intern Joanna (awwww!) and Kylee Kross, one of the Joanna's leading co-stars in the flick.
And it turns out she was there with a girl, who now I realize in retrospect, I might have at one time traded dirty photos with online but had never actually met in person....er, until now. So, yeah, nice to meet you. (Awkward!)
Usually, when you see your friend's band in NYC they pack up all their shit and go home as soon as their set is over (because it's a huge pain in the ass to worry about whether or not all your gear is going to get jacked). But Crash Mansion has a really nice back stage area where bands can secure all their equipment, so the band all stuck around after they played which gave us a rare opportunity to heap praise upon them.
Ellen wanted me to take a picture of her "giving it" to Grant. She got on top of him, grabbed his legs and then just as I was about to take the pic, she threw his legs back and fold-fucked him in half! Hahahaha. Look at the expression on his face! He totally didn't see it coming!
On Saturday morning Grant come to my apartment bearing good news! After months of back and forth negotiations, his book contract with Harper Collins had been finalized! By the way, if you like this site at all you should really do yourself a favor and buy Grant's book! It's called Working Stiff and it's awesome. (Not to be confused the other, er, book called Working Stiff).
After we left, we got caught in a torrential downpour while walking back to my apartment (instant karma!) and everyone had to raid my wardrobe for a dry change of clothes. Grant opted for a hoodie and a stretched-out old pair of skiing thermals that I don't think had seen the light of day since '93.
But that certainly didn't stop Grant from getting me to take this picture of him surreptitiously mocking a family of ginger kids that we passed on the way out. Grant was almost fucking beside himself as he kept giddily hissing "Look at their hair! It's SO RED! They have FUCKING CLOWN HAIR!" Hahaha.
