Right before we rolled into tha joint, Emily Cmeilewski showed up! Woooo! (Because, as you know, it's just not a complete Roxbury Reunion unless the EM to the EL to the E is there).
After bidding farewell to the Nerve folks (Michael Martin refused to let me photograph him) I had to pass David and Miye's new store on Elizabeth street. David pulls "Blue Steel" as I model one of their store's funny hats.
I decided to try to instigate and was like "Hey Mike, you should give your new friend a kiss!" Check him all ballsy bringing the "fuck you" finger out right in front of her face (also make sure to note how my hand is all smooshing his neck as I'm actually trying to get him to kiss her). Hahahah.
a loud, drunk asian girls in a straw party hat showed up and helped liven things up! Fuck yeah! When this girl cornered Mike D. on the stairs he was all like "Hey, this is my friend Brian! He should take some pics of us together!" Then Mike D. raised the bar from the "get a load of this guy" face and went straight for the "serruptitious fuck you fingerpiont." Classy!
After an hour in the sun, some of the (many) treats we'd purchased on the car ride out, especially the chocolately ones, had gotten gooey. Rather than having to squirt it out of the wrapper like toothpaste, Grant decided to chill that motherfucker out in the ocean to return it to a more solid state. (Mmmmmmm....delicious Fastbreak).
On Saturday afternoon we were going to go to the beach but then it got cloudy. So instead, we just took pictures of my roommate's "beach hat" that Leigh had planned on borrowing for the day.
...Tara in a GAY-ASS HAT! Whoops! There goes your erection! Hehe. Anybody that knows me knows that my biggest pet peave is girls in hats. Ugh, they just make me angry. Tara had stashed this in her car and meant to wear it when she picked me up at the bus station, but had forgotten about it. After we had said our goodbyes and I was walking towards the terminal she called out "Wait, wait! Brian, check me out!" and when I turned around...*shudder*...a fucking hat. (Actually it's not just a hat. It's the gayest hat to end all gay hats. It's the hat-equilalent of a unicorn co-owned by Nathan Lane and Ricky Martin.)
"Hey dude, that's a fresh hat! I've never seen a cowboy skull hat." "That's because I made it myself." "Wow! You made that? I can't believe it! It's like a work of art - that you can WEAR! Say, you wouldn't mind posing for a picture, would you?" Bwahahaha.
But we went up to them afterwards and were talking to them and they turned out to be the nicest people in the world. (And although you can't really tell from this pic, this lady was actually pretty hot. Fatty kept nudging me and nodding over at her being like "Dude, she's so hot....and TRAAAAASHY." Yep, Fatty loves him some trashy women.)
Then his pants. Somewhere along the lines a sailor hat, a life saver and an egg beater (yep, see it stuck down the front of his pants there?) entered the mix.
Now, most of you probably don't know this about me, but I have a pinhead. No, really. I do. And I guess it doesn't look tiny because when I tell people about it, they never believe me - or at least they don't until I take someone's normal-sized hat and put it on and SHAZAM! Pinhead! Check out Matt cackling at my tiny head swimming in Grant's hat.
At 8:59pm, just as we sat down on a bench to eat our dinner the power was finally restored to Soho and the Lower East Side (we were the last neighborhoods in all of NYC to get it restored going a whoppoing 28 hours and 28 minutes without it)! As the lights came up all around us, people everywhere were laughing and clapping and cheering and singing. Yay, power!
Check out Colin! Your enjoyment of this photo just isn't fully maximized until you play The Village Peoples "YMCA" on your MP3 player in the background. (Although, "Raining Men" is a good subsitute).
