Thanksgiving family portrait! On Friday night we went to see... Also noteworthy on Sunday was the custom mouse pad Meredith gave me as a gift out of the blue. A-dorable. It took forever to get a photo of Maddy looking towards the camera because in between shots... ...she couldn't resist licking my delicious make-uppy face. Yep, on our way. Me and Mer (we both ended up getting sooooo drunk). Meredith chose Tous les garcons et les filles by Francoise Hardy (All the boys and girls ) We got to have a "first dance" and everthing. See you all dressed up again tomorrow! Mer and me at dinner. On Monday afternoon, we hopped in a cab and headed over to Leigh's apartment... Married folks! Neck pillows? Check! Ready for the thirty-hour trip back. Last night as honeymooners! Later in the afternoon, we wandered around the town on foot. Mer did a bunch of souvenir shopping... One more for the road. Here's us with our awesome tour guide! Hahah. He wanted to dress us up in traditional Balinese wedding clothes and take our picture! After we'd finished the tour, we stopped by our guide's house. He told us to wait outside because he had a surprise for us. ...uh...presenting a hill! Us in front of the wall! ...pretending to take a nap in the little farmer's "nap hut" he showed us. Haha. And... When our tour guide found out that we were on our honeymoon, he insisted on stopping every couple of minutes to take pictures of Meredith and I together. Doing things like...posing in front of the rice paddy! And... After a day of settling in... After some swimming and napping at the pool, we went up to the restaurant at the top of the hill... People in Bali are super-friendly and any time a local found out we were on our honeymoon they were so excited for us. It was really great. Here's us doing our best to not squint. You had a cover your bare legs. Mer doesn't like scuba diving (she has trouble equalizing the pressure in her ears) but she was excited to snorkel around the reef while we were diving. The local time was 3:30 in the afternoon. Hey hey, are you ready for a... Official start of the honeymoon! Amazing. Thanks again for coming all the way across the country to see us get married, guys! Mer came home and woke up a little after 10pm. I'd gotten another eight hours of sleep since our trip to the doctor and my fever was finally breaking. Getting married the day after tomorrow! Me and the bride-to-be. That's where we're getting married! Excited. 4:30am. Taking the elevator downstairs to head to the airport...TO GET MARRIED! Joining the married club shortly! Me and Mer. On Saturday morning, Mer and I hopped in a cab and headed crosstown to meet up with... I had off work on Monday so Meredith and I decided to hop on the subway and to the magical faraway land of... Just a quiet Saturday night at home. We spent the afternoon watching DVR'ed episodes of Wife Swap . The episode where the black dude ends up living with an entire family that's into renaissance reenactment made me laugh until I cried. Mer and me. Full and happy. We got to the park and there were hundreds of people with daschunds! Meredith and I have the same exact eye-glass prescription which is awesome because either one of us can pick up and use the first pair of glasses that are around. On Saturday, Meredith parents came down to hang out with Maddy. Monkeys. Smooch. Me with the other future-Mrs-Battjer (getting married in 7 months! Eeep!)
