...which means BLAMO!, she's instantly asleep ten minutes later on the ride back north. My mom will get drunk from only a sniff of the barmaid's apron. Hahaha.
And then after dropping my parents off at home, I swung up to visit Scott but his two rugrats had gotten the best of him that day and he nodded off shortly after I'd gotten there. Bonus points for falling asleep with a full beer and managing not to spill any.
I'm such a lightweight - nothing makes me sleepier than having a few beers in the afternoon. Not wanting to be at anything less than full capacity for our big night touring Essex's finest nightclubs (ok, ok and also wanted to spend some more QT with Gemma's fragrant pillow...mmmmm, Gemma), I opted to take a quick nap. Somebody snuck in (the Fatty, I think) and managed to grab this pic (which is one of the few pics on the site of a person sleeping that doesn't also have someone's genitalia in close proximity to their face).
(Update: Ok, in Grant's
defense I have to post something from an email he just sent clarifying
why he was worried about the whole plane thing. Turns out he
wasn't worried that I'd be mistaken for a a terrorist,
he was worried that they were going to think I was
a spy. In
his email he included a link to story on the
BBC
news website about 14 "planespotters," people that
take pictures of airplanes as a hobby, that were
just convicted
of "espionage" after being arrested for taking pictures
of Greek military planes during an airshow there. Ka-ka-kuh-razy!
Good
looking out, Grizza. Sorry.)
Back at the condo after dinner, Fatty managed to get off a fairly decent braining while Grant took a nap. He was about to lean in closer, but Grant woke up (This kid's so high-strung a mouse fart'd wake him up).
We drove back to our resort and loafed around relaxing. Grant and I came back from reading outside on the porch to discover that our dear, dear friend the Fatty had made the fatal mistake of falling asleep with his headphones on. Uh-oh! We all know what that means!
The three of us headed back to our condo to try to convince the still-sleeping boys to head into town and getting some food. Check out the Fatty totally passed out from the previous night's exploits. Beeeeeg guy on a leeeeetle couch!
Fatty managed to snap a pic of the Grizza and I in a golden slumber before we got some breakfast and hit the road. (Luckily he wasn't there to capture the Golden Shower that had gone on a few minutes earlier).
3:41pm (Time Elapsed With No Sleep: 25h 11m). After lunch we got to the gate with about 20 minutes to spare before our boarding call which I figured was the perfect chance to finally chance to catch a quick nap. Right after Fatty took this picture, both he and Chris fell asleep and we almost missed our flight! We woke up just in time to catch the last boarding call.
Fatty's big plan was to pop a few Tylenol PM and sleep for the entire flight. But for some reason, he didn't stay asleep. He managed to get, oh, about 25 minutes of sleep before he was awaken by the stewardess who wanted to know what we wanted for dinner.
On the Friday before leaving for vacation, I headed out to NJ to hang out with the Fam. Right when I got into town, I stopped to visit my friend Scott (this is around 10pm), but becasuse he has to young kids and gets up for work super early, he pretty much fell dead asleep like 10 minutes after I got there.
After our (not-so) deliscous breakfast, Grant and I walked over to Tara's apartment to try to get her to come walk around the city with us. We found her all ornery, in a towel, refusing to get out of bed. Her plan was to just stay asleep until the power came back on.
Also, try to keep in mind that it's like 95 degrees outside. As our office started heating up (no AC, remember?), I decided to lay down and take a nap and wait for the power to come back on. I must've fallen into a deep sleep, because Grant managed to brain me pretty good. He loses points for not having my face in the pic, tho. (Thank god).
As Grant and I were leaving the office for lunch, Grant went over to speak with John K., one of Nerve's programmers, who from behind appeared to be reading a book on the couch. Upon closer examination it was revealved that he was playing the old "taking a nap while pretending to read a book" trick. So after several failed to attempts to wake him (note the earplugs), Grant decided to not bother with the question and instead decided to...
