On Monday night I went over to Angels & Kings for a karaoke competition that was being held to celebrate the release of Sarah Lewitinn's SECOND BOOK, Pocket Karaoke. ! Here's Karen with our beloved author! Congrats again, Sarah! TWO BOOKS? We're so proud of you!
After we finished making a mess all over the sidewalk, we went back inside and played songs for nobody but ourselves the rest of the night. Good. Times.
We got played records, got crunked on big drinks served in weird jars and tried our best to fit an entire glass in our mouths like Susan used to do way back in the day.
Major controversy erupted when someone drew a "all teams compete" card and each team had to select a member to try to get their teammates to guess the clue "Jewish." Here's Meredith holding up the winning drawing, in front of her all-Jewish team.
The tension in the room was unbelievable. (PS - If, perchance, you ever find yourself anywhere in the vicinity of Fatty, and you also, perchance, decide to take out your camera and take a picture and Fatty is not in the frame, there's is a 100% chance that he will lean into the frame at the last second and make an awesome face.)
Hahaha. I don't remember why Sarah's doing the whole "me have Chinee eyes" thing, but I'm sure there's a perfectly-good, non-racist explanation for it. Nah, I'm just kidding. She's totally a racist! RACIST!
...but eventually gave up and just ripped the broken part off the lens. And was over-joyed to discover that despite the fact that I'd just dropped the camera on its lens and then ripped half of lens-assembly off the camera, that the camera still took perfectly good photos! (Not to mention that this is pretty much my favorite photo of Karen of all time. I love how it looks like it was taking during a private, Undies-Only dance party! *gasp!*).
...and then headed over to Angels & Kings in the East Village to visit Sarah, Karen and Brandon. Right after I snapped this picture, I dropped my brand new camera and broke the lens-protector! So that the next time I took a photo...
The day was perfect. We pretty much just sat around stuffing our faces with snacks and enjoying the sun and occasionally stopping to mock people near us. Like the girl in the background that decided to use her boyfriend as a bench. WTF?
I know your eyes are going right to Karen's awesome juggs, but after you're done checking them out, make sure to direct your attention to the upper-left portion of the photo where Gurj is tickling some lady's dingus.
We finished Cranium a little after one, and everybody rallied and decided to head to karaoke! I love how everyone in this photo is all "Woooo! Party!" except for Benjamin. Hahaha.
Don Hill's was WAY too crowded and sweaty, so I spend most of the night hiding in the little secret section drinking free booze (woo!). Ilirjana and Karen.
In the end, Team NoJenny won! (Meredith decided to represent for Jenny by popping out her knockers!). After Cranium, we all hung out for a while and then someone noticed that Meredith had disappeared. When Meredith disappears from a party, it's usually because...
Karen, Sarah, and Jenny started out as a team, but about 15 minutes in the game, Jenny got a red-card for being too drunk to understand how the game was played. This was also the night that Jenny coined a phrase that I still happily use on a weekly basis. During one of the challenges where Sarah was required to draw a picture and get her teammates to guess a clue, Jenny watched her draw and started yelling out guesses. "Uh....it's FEET! Uhhhhh. Uhhhhh. Hmmmm. Oh! Feet! No, VAGINA! OH, FEET!"
Karen was wearing her sexy-ass wolf shirt (which, incidentally, is the same EXACT shirt kids in my high school used to mock Eric Witzling for wearing back in 1992. If only they'd known that he was a fashion GOD fourteen-years ahead of his time!)
