Met up with Grant at Odessa (RIP!) to give him the keys to the cabin so he could go up there for a few days.

I'm writing this in May of 2022 and I'm sad to report that Dreiss just passed away two weeks ago. RIP, buddy! You were such a good boy!

Tuesday was my 41st birthday! Got up early, started cleaning up the cabin and getting ready to head back to NYC to celebrate with my friends.

Opened a few more gifts on the Cabin Housewarming Wishlist that Grant put together and sent around to all our friends. Still one of the nicest things that anyone has done for me! Thanks, Grant! In this box was a set of Tick Tweezers and a coffee pot.

The land I bought is historic and was involved in an accidental skirmish between settlers and local natives during the French / Indian War. Settled 1754. Attacked by "Indians" 1755. George Brimmer is buried right on the edge of my property.

Later that afternoon, we locked the cabin up and headed back home. But there will be plenty more cabin action coming up.

On Wednesday afternoon Grant accompanied me to pick up the keys to the waaaay upstate off-grid cabin I'd purchased earlier in the year. (We had to wait a while for the weather to warm up!). After we drove up the mountain on the super steep private dirt road, I gave him a tour of the cabin...

...after I'd finished, Grant walked down to the scenic overlook by the fire pit and said "I think this might be the best thing you've done." lol.

We finally found our way back to the cabin...

...that my offer on the cabin upstate had been accepted and the cabin was now mine! Woooooo!
