We finished around 5:30. Here's Scott, Matt, Mer and Murdo celebrating after getting the final item into the apartment. After all the lugging, we decided to all head out for Thai food and feed everyone that helped with the move. Thanks so much for helping everyone! Every day I feel lucky to have the friends that I do. ;)
Later that night, Meredith, Matt and I met up with Alex (who was in the same improv class as Matt & I) and we went to see the Sunday night Asscat show at the UCB Theater.
By the time we got to the LES, whatever party we were supposed to have been attending, had long since ended. So instead we made friends with a bearded, black cowboy...
Right as we were leaving the restaurant (at 2am!), a white Cadillac strech-limo (that looked like it had just driven to Manhattan FROM THE 80s), pulled up to the curb and asked us if we wanted a ride! Out of habit, I waved him away with my hand, but Matt was intrigued and asked "How much to go to the Lower East Side?"
I missed out on the finer points of the negotiation (me = totally wasted, remember?), but the next thing I know, Matt's grinning from ear to ear and waving us all into the back of the limo.
Which meant that we were free to use the table decorations as props in hand-job jokes without having to worry about offending other patrons! When our waiter came back out after clearing the table, we were certain that he was going to politely usher us out, but instead, he asked us if we were interested in dessert!
Keep in mind that this is kind of a fancy restaurant! At first we were a little worried that we were going to get "spoken to" by the staff. But I think after having to deal with uppity customers all night, the waitstaff got a genuine kick out of us. Because every time we finished a bottle of sake (in the classiest of ways)...
Before leaving town, we decided to stop off and get ourselves a huge brunch at some chain restaurant (TGIF? Chili's? Ruby Tuesday? Applebee's? Anyone remember?). Here's Eva and Jenny totally excited about brunch while Matt works on waking up / recovering from almost a year on the road.
We took the elevator up to one of the fancy floors and located Matt in his totally free fancy room! The place had arbitrarily-placed flatsreen TVs on pretty much every surface.
...but from this photo of Matt pretending he's putting his foot up on a monitor, I'm going to venture a guess and say it was probably something by Iron Maiden. "Run to the hills....run for your..."
Just when Matt had recovered from Jenny and Karen's rendition of one of his band's songs, he was called up to sing! I don't remember what song it was...
We finished Cranium a little after one, and everybody rallied and decided to head to karaoke! I love how everyone in this photo is all "Woooo! Party!" except for Benjamin. Hahaha.
But hey, at least my balls aren't peeking out of my waistband all tight-and-shiny. (Matt, after you're done braining someone, you have to remember to put your luggage away!)
On Saturday night, Matt and I went out again and Matt wanted to "brain" strangers. His jeans were too tight for him to pull his ball-sack out through his fly, so he got creative and just decided to pull up his sack so that it was peeking out of the top of his waistband! Hahahaha.
Rubano was there! In this photo he's subtly pointing out the girl with the totally gross past-her-asscrack hair. We pretty much missed out on the entire show because we were discussing all the potential bathroom-related disaster that could befall a person with hair that long. Gross.
