MAKE A WISH, BIRTHDAY BOY!
cake
Before things got too hot and heavy on the lanes, Karen and Sarah busted out a birthday cake!
cake
...that turned out to have a homemade birthday cake inside! (That ran into some "transportation problems" en route).
cake
On Saturday evening, we went up to the Upper East Side and had dinner with Meredith's parents to celebrate Meredith's birthday!
cake
Katie's birthday cake was special because it was a King Cake! The King Cake has a tiny plastic baby baked into it, and whoever finds the little baby in their piece of cake is declared The King (or Queen) of the party and that means that WHATEVER they say, goes! Ahhh, the possibilities.
cake
Happy Birthday, Katie!
cake
...to watch Siege deliver Katie's very special birthday cake!
cake
Mmmmmmm...I take after my dad. Yellow cake with chocolate icing and PUDDIN' in the middle? Holy shit, I'm drooling on my shirt right now writing this caption. The ol' Pavlovian cake-caption response.
cake
Ok, enough with the mushy stuff. Hand me the knife, woman! It's cake cutting time!
cake
He even wears cute little sweatshirts with the team he's routing for on them when we watches football. I know you're not really supposed say that sports fans are kind of adorable...but what can I say? Tell me this photo isn't a little adorable. Happy Birthday, Dad!
cake
Voila! An orange and blue Syracuse football cake for my dad! My dad nearly creamed himself...Cake, Football and Syracuse are like this three favorite things in the world (in that order).
cake
Later that night, Meredith and my mom baked a cake for my dad's birthday. Here's Meredith mid-decoration.
cake
On Sunday afternoon I was coming back from the park and I noticed that there's a bakery right near my house that has a cool window display of the different kind of custom cakes they offer. They had wedding cakes...
cake
...Bachelorette Party cakes...
cake
...and what I'm hoping is a Bachelor Party cake. I love her totally sheer shirt. What a slut!
cake
Surprise!
cake
I love this photo of Frank. I'm not 100% sure, but I think this cake was for Lydia's birthday.
cake
NOM NOM NOM.
cake
On Monday night I came home to discover that Meredith baked me a belated birthday cake (to make up for the fact that my official birthday cake got eaten by ANTS and I only got to taste a teeny tiny bit of it!). Thanks, Weenis!
cake
I took a knife and dug out an ant-free chunk so that I could at least have a taste of the wonderful cake Meredith had gotten for me before we had to throw it away! Booooo!
cake
...and then after showering, I decided to have myself a slice of the birthday cake that Meredith had gotten me only to find it swarmed with tiny, feasting ants! Nooooooo!
cake
We got home just before 4am and Meredith busted out a cake that she'd picked up from a bakery earlier that day when I was napping! That little sneak! We were way too full and drunk to even think about eating it, so decided to save it for the morning and called it a night! Thanks for coming out on my birthday, Meredith & Jeremy! I had an amazing time!
cake
Make another weeeeeeeesh!
cake
...Geordon could bring out a bunch of ice cream cone cupcakes and we could all embarrass the crap out of her by singing Happy Birthday.
cake
Make a weeeeeeeeeeeeesh!
cake
"Happy Birthday, dear Lee-eigh!"
cake
Then it was time for cake!

Delicious ice cream cake that my mom reluctantly bought for Father's Day.

Happy Birthday, Vin! I love you!

Birthday cake!
cake
Happy Birthday, Siege!
cake
A little after 1am, Katie brought out a King Cake that Siege's mom had FedExed up from New Orleans for the occasion!
cake
Make a wish, Pappi!
cake
After we finished eating, it was time for cake and presents!
cake
Happy Birthday, Mom!

On Saturday night my parents came into town to go out to dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday!

cake
My parents were coming into town the next night to celebrate my mom's birthday so I spend Friday night getting ready by making mom a birthday cake.
cake
...and to celebrate Geordon's birthday!
cake
I was hoping one of them would do the cake-smash, but no such luck!
cake
Cake feeding!
cake
Cutting the wedding cake (again!).
cake
At some point during our meal, one of my weaselly friends managed to sneak away from the table and tip our waitress off to the fact that it was my birthday. She brought me a piece of cake, (complete with candle!) and my friends got to loudly sing "Happy Birthday" and embarrass me! Yay!
cake
August 7th was just a normal night around the house...but as soon as the clock struck midnight, Meredith appeared out of nowhere and sniped me with a birthday-treat!
cake
Year 34: Take Two!
cake
After Leigh's party, I walked a mere three blocks to head up to a rooftop party to wish Mike Cohen a happy 35th 34th Birthday!
cake
Make a wish, Tinny!
cake
Here's Geordon bringing out the "Happy Birthday U Big Bitch" birthday cake! Hahaha.
cake
...my friend Amy Albano's going away party! After almost 10 years in NYC, Amy (who I've known since middle school!) had decided to move out to New Mexico to attend grad school. (But much like my ill-fated move to San Francisco, she ended up back in NYC less than four months later!). Our friend Jen that hosted the party is a baker! Check out the amazing cake she made for Amy!
cake
Although Meredith wasn't feeling well (having most likely picked up any number of airborne illnesses on her eight-hour Greyhound bus ride), she wisely managed to hold out for some cake! As soon as she'd finished her slice, she announced her retirement and headed up to the room.
cake
Hahaha.
cake
They did it by the book.
cake
No cake-smashing antics here!
cake
Emma and Rob cutting the cake!
cake
The nice thing about living in NYC is that you probably don't have a car which means you can always take "full advantage" of an open bar. I ended having to keep my rental-car keys on the table as a reminder to take it easy.
cake
...smashes my cake-heart. Awwww!
cake
I attended them at the same time! How is that possible you ask? It's possible because...
cake
On Sunday afternoon I also attended Amy Albano's birthday party. Are you ready for the crazy part?
cake
This was, by far and away, the best cake-smashing I'd ever seen at a wedding! Bravo, you two!
cake
Tara ended up with just a tiny bit of frosting on her nose and lips. However, when it was Tara's turn to feed Greg his cake...
cake
...some cake smashed into some faces. Greg didn't smash the cake so much as he lovingly smooshed it.
cake
Sometimes when you go to a wedding, you're not sure if the bride and groom are going to feed each other the cake nicely, or whether they're going to smash it into each other's faces. In Tara and Greg's case, I had no doubt in my mind that there was going to be...
cake
Then it was time for cake! Greg is a big football fan, so in addition to a regular wedding cake, they also had a Pittsburgh Steelers cake! Hahah.
cake
After the birthday cake had been sliced up, passed around and eaten, Siege brought out the special "King Cake" that his mom sends up from New Orleans every year! A "King Cake" has a little plastic baby baked into it and if you end up getting the piece of cake that contains said baby, YOU ARE THE KING! In this case, the Kingship entitled you to VIP treatment at the stripclub the party was soon moving on to!
cake
Here's everybody clapping because he did such a good job blowing out ALL THOSE candles.
cake
On Thursday night I went out to Brooklyn to celebrate Siege's birthday!
cake
Chocolatastic.
cake
Then it was time for wedding cake!
cake
Josh's awesome birthday cake!
cake
Grant and I busted out some cake-related ugly-faces. Here's one called "the messy eater."
cake
Then Liz busted out a birthday cake! Happy Birthday, Frank!
cake
I ended up getting really drunk and leaving my camera in the kitchen (which is a rarity - because usually no matter how drunk I get, I manage to continually snap photos anyway). So these are the only two pics I have from the party! Jess getting ready to blow out her birthday candles!
cake
It was Sean's birthday! Peanut butter bomb cake!
cake
I've known this dude a long-ass time. He even has the distinction of appearing in the 2nd entry I ever posted (December of 1996, third photo down!)
cake
Then, after we'd finished eating, they surprised me with a homemade (thanks, Leigh!) belated birthday cake!
cake
Old man = tons of candle smoke! Thanks for surprising me so nice, everyone!
cake
The day after returning from my (unplanned!) month-long trip to Korea and Japan, Meredith surprised me with a belated birthday cake! (My 29th birthday happened while I was teaching in Korea).
cake
Sarah does the cake-feeding honors.

And here's a little bit on your nose for good luck!
cake
Then it was time for cake! Peanut Butter Bomb!

After getting settled, Ellend busted out her JuGGz birthday cake and then snuck off to "ice them."
cake
On Sunday we went to Sway to celebrate Thomas' birthday!
cake
The birthday boy with his cake!
cake
The red icing my mom bought turned out looking too much like ketchup on the brown cake-icing! She started to fix it with some errant orange icing she had that came out looking like Cheez Whiz and that's when she decided to leave well enough alone.
cake
After I bid Grant farewell (and after I'd finished admiring his undies) I hopped a train out to New Jersey to my parent's house to wish my dad a happy 58th (Holy crap!) birthday!
cake
After dinner we celebrated my cousin Chad's up coming birthday with a cake. "No, you're the man now, dawg!"
cake
Friday was Philips birthday! Here's me sneaking up on him with a lit cake while he was on the phone with a client.
cake
Cutting the cake.

Talk about a sweet face! (*rimshot!*) Goodbye, Emilie! Good luck in LA!

On the run with cake on her face.
