A whole bunch of us met up at Matt's apartment to sing happy birthday to Ellen and have some cake before heading crosstown to the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater to see a show. Make a wish Ellen!
It's really difficult to ever "throw" Leigh a party because she's always hiding and disappearing (into places like secret backrooms and utility closets), but at 2am Max managed to pin her down to the backroom so that...
...which led to a "oh no I'm gonna puke" scare about 10 minutes later. Leigh sat with me outside and I'm proud to say I managed to keep everything down. Yay, thirty! I'm a big boy now!
Edie was exploring our new apartment and was really intrigued by a roll of saran wrap that she found (that'd we'd used to wrap boxes in our recent move). So I took it upon myself to use the packing-wrap to make Edie a little doggie outfit.
Later that afternoon the ladies took me to Red Bamboo for some vegetarian soul food. (Most likely, because unbeknownst to me, I was being taken to a steakhouse for my birthday dinner and this gave the two vegetarians a chance to fill up!).
Leigh said I could have anything I wanted for my birthday. So I told her I wanted to see her try on the "I Heart NY" t-shirt I had bought for my friend Ross and Jordana's son Dashle for his first birthday. (They moved away before I got a chance to give it to him and by the time I saw them again, he'd outgrown - or so I thought until I saw Leigh manage to squirm her way into it).
A week earlier Leigh had asked me if I'd be one of the DJs at her party. I was like "Uh, I don't know how to DJ, remember?" She was all "You don't have to beat-match and shit. Just bring a bunch of songs that you think will get people dancing. I'll take you over early and show you how to use the decks. It'll take twenty minutes." True to her word, she picked me up in a cab a few hours before her party was set to start, took me over to Luke and Leroy's (Here's the bday girl pulling a face)...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEIGH! Monday was Tinny's official birthday and I took her out for vegan treats at Red Bamboo. Just because it's a seitan Philly cheesesteak doesn't mean she can't make carnivorous faces while she tears into it.
