Hot Licks Coffee Hour with your hosts Grant Stoddard and Specklesby Elbowsniffer. Where have you been? Maddy lifts her paw and points every time she sees a squirrel that she'd like to chase. Showed Grant how to plug the guitar into GarageBand and tried my best to prod him into writing songs again . There are pigeon-nests hidden in the girders underneath the pedestrian overpass and Maddy is determined to observe them all. ...PIGEONS! Yes, hello... Took Maddy for a long walk to walk that shit off. Maddy checking out her morning pee-mail. (Peeing on stuff is like Facebook for dogs) Walking the ladies. Woke up Tuesday morning to find these two rough-housing on the couch and making weird goose-honking noises at each other. ...and then she pulls her head out and attacks Edie! Repeat times one-hundred. Maddy likes to play this game where she buries her head under a blanket (she can't see anything so she thinks she's invisible?)... Finished up early enough to take a late-afternoon nap with these two bozos. Later that evening, Grant and Amanda came over for a hang. They brought powder-sugar doughnuts... Bookends. Later that evening, Edie came over to stay for a bit. Bought another plant on Sunday afternoon. (Golden Pothos also known as Devil's Ivy). Check out Sunbeam Squinter in the background. Haha. Follows the afternoon sun as it moves across the couch. Maddy's face. LOL. Grant came over early on Thursday morning because we'd agreed to help my neighbor Theresa move a bunch of large pieces of art work from her storage unit to her studio. Sun is slowly melting my tiny dog brain. One of my favorite things is watching Maddy settle down into a sunbeam, all squinty-eyed... ...and then watch her try her hardest to stay awake. What wants? Is sleepy! Huh? Maddy lazily half-burroughed under blanket after her morning walk. Where is the face? Yes, hello. Who lives here? Maddy is OBSESSED with squirrels, pigeons & rats. Squirrel go up a tree. Pigeon fly away. Big nose was underfoot for the entire project. Someone needed their jacket for the morning walk. Roses for my pigeon-vanquishing hero. Maddy is really good at stalking pigeons. She sneaks up on them all slow and low and then pounces! Saturday morning pop-in from the Grizz. Maddy has a very specific dirty look she gives me when she's ready for a walk. Walk now? Came home to find the dogsitter smashing the dog! Hey! Where the lady go? I was sick for almost a whole week! By Sunday I was feeling better. Meredith came over to hang out and to see Maddy. Someone fell asleep while wearing their hand-hat! These are my friends. There are many like them, but these ones are mine. Maddy fluffed the couch pillows to the group's adoration. Treat-sleepy. Me and squinty, in our matching winter jackets,... Sometimes I make it all the way to bed. Sometimes the couch is bed. ...huge linked-barges up the river. ...with this squidgel. ADULT STUFF! Very thankful that we were able to keep something so terrible relatively-lovely. At one point, Mer said to me "We had a pretty good run, buddy ." ...and then took this one on a walk through the snow-packed park. Cat came over for a hang! We talked about LIFE STUFF and philosophy and Catrinel was award quote of the month for the following: "Oh, I see now. It was your plan all along to lure me over to to your apartment just so you could tell me that I don't exist!" Hahahah. Out walking the wiener dog after an afternoon spent talking to a few prospect clients. What a hunch-whistle! ...."Ok, I'm ready for you to pet me now." ...and then fall onto her side. This is her way of saying... So hard to know it and not smash it with love. Awww, this little cuddle bear. When you walk into a room and pay attention to Maddy, she'll look at you... On Sunday afternoon, Grant came by for a hang. So grateful to have a buddy nearby who likes the surprise pop-in. ..a little speckled wiener dog who wasn't entirely sure if she was ready to forgive me for leaving. "IS BACK NOW?" ...through East River Park. ...hanging out with my blanket snoozer. ...and get a dog's eye view of my pad thai. Mmmmm. On Thursday afternoon I got this fugger back. Smile! Meredith and Murdo came by later in the afternoon to pick Maddy up for a few days.
