On the very first morning of 2014, Piper & Edie helped keep Ellen cozy while she waited for... ..and only her head was sticking out. Came into the bedroom to find Maddy had made a bed out of a comforter... Mer came over to my place a little after 9pm, and we walked with the dogs over to the West Village... With a wrinkly puppy Maddy doppleganger on the box! Happy 4th birthday to this excellent hound (seen here using a lavender-filled eye-pillow as a dog-pillow). Penelope came over for reiki on Thursday. Maddy likes to be lifted up onto the table so she can tucker down in Leg Alley. Later that night Mer came over to hang and snuggle Maddy sans socks. ...just pictures of Maddy sliding into the room in dog socks witha a concerned look. Hahah. Saddest holiday dog ever! She hate her holiday socks so hard! On Wednesday afternoon I went over to Leigh's house. I don't have any pictures of Leigh... The next morning: So....do you think Biggy is going to call me? Biggy and Maddy also got to spend some quality time together. Ya know what, dad? Parties really wear me out. Smash them all together! Dog pile! ...then spent the afternoon reading on the couch with my buddy. Chilly dog warming up in her Halloween outfit. Dancing with my dog. Maddy wants to kill everything. Maddy likes to watch but needs a little help ...with my terrifying pack of Halloween Hell Hounds! I have had my doctor friends tell me that cold lasers are placebo and don't do anything - but they really seemed to help Maddy's back injury heal quickly and I'm glad I didn't send her in for back surgery! Dachshund infestation! Not impressed. Lazy afternoon. Kissed my convalescent Such an excellent knee-napper. ...and chased this muppet around the apartment. Resting up at home. I got a real hurt back, dad. Maddy's back was still really hurting and my vet referred me to a holistic vet in Chelsea who does animal chiropractic and cold-laser treatments. I was skeptical, but Maddy who'd been quivering in pain for 3 days, started wagging her tail after a few minutes of her first laser treatment. Maddy was hiding out in her crate most of the day because she hurt her back jumping down off my couch! Grant came over in the morning and rescued me... My brother was up in NYC for a work conference and crashed at my place instead of a hotel. This guy enjoys a couch-snuggling with friends. While walking through the park, Maddy got her head stuck in this box while trying to catch a squirrel! Contemplating the error in her ways before sleeping off the perils of squirrel chasing. (Don't worry, her resolve was only strengthened by the incident.) Happy September 2013! This feels so wrong to me. Hey, dad! Squirrel! ...she slowly turned around... ...and went back to sleep like this. Ha! Caught Maddy napping in the sun so hard. After she was done squinting at me... Grant came over Sunday morning to grab some breakfast. ...that you have no choice but to hold a tiny dog and fall asleep on my couch. ...but you can watch as the warm sunshine slowly melts her puppy resolve... Maddy tries so hard to stay awake and maintain eye contact... ...into sleep! Welcome to my living room on a Wednesday morning. Woke up to this like it's the most natural thing in the world. ...just how adorable she can be when she has a fawning audience. ...and Maddy was eager to show off... On Monday I was finallly back in NYC after back to back trips, first out to Whistler, BC to go camping at Joffrey Lakes , and then out to the Poconos for Jared's Bachelor Weekend ! On Thursday morning I grabbed Maddy, hopped in a cab up FDR... Is tired from digging through a door. And then later that evening, I practicing reiki on Mer. Post-treatment cuddles with Maddy. On the walk home, Maddy ran into her doppleganger (dapple-ganger?), Esther! You guys look like ME! They are always so excited to see each other! Squad. Vin came over for a hang on Wednesday. Bunk buddies. Sleeping between feet! Maddy vanquished squirrels to their trees. Spent the evening throwing various items down the hallway hundreds of times for this tiny terror... Maddy likes when I practice reiki on people and makes little crying noises until I lift her onto the table so she can nap between their legs while I work. Haha. Later that evening Meredith came over and let me practice reiki on her. Wiener is my co-pilot. ...put this little dingle in the car... ...snuggled up. Totally tuckered. Brett snapped this pic of my sun-snoozing with my best-bud at 4pm after a long day of walking around in the heat. ...grabbed this little skadootch and drove down to DC... Stick-on nipples? I don't get it. ...in every nook and cranny along the way. Took this one for a nice slow walk over to East River Park and let her go crazy seeking out pigeons... Just me and you, kid! Meredith spend the weekend hanging out with Maddy while I was away both days taking my class. Davo came back to mine for a few days on Tuesday. We spent the afternoon designing fliers to try to get more people to come to our new weekly dance party.... All tuckered out from the heat! Buddies. On Saturday afternoon, Meredith came over to watch Maddy while I headed out of town for a night. Conked out. I smell ocean! Why you no take me to beach anymore? Maddy loves to roll around in the huge piles of mulch they dump in Tompkins. Pretty flowers on the fence. Getting the party started is hard work! On the walk over to East River Park there's an old fire hydrant they've converted into a dog water fountain. Haha. This one starts at one end of the couch and slowly moves across to the other end to follow the sunbeam as it moves. Haha. Tired this one out with a long morning walk... Happy Father's Day to my dog-child! Bark like an Egyptian-uh. Took Maddy for a walk and snapped a few selfies of my new haircut so I could update the photos on my online dating profile. On Friday night, I took the train down to South Jersey... Spent Saturday morning exploring the community garden with Maddy. I love her sun-snoozing face. This one passes out so hard in a sunbeam. I went for a run and surprised Maddy when I came home and plopped down next to her on the couch. Cuddling a leg with face hanging off the couch. Haha. Had a Sunday afternoon hang with this handsome gentleman.
