A bunch of the elm trees are sick and they are spaypaint-marked for removal! Sad! Merry Christmas! Got up early and took Maddy for a holiday walk to the East River. I also got this very excellent handset for my cell phone! On Wednesday I got an extra hound for a while! Maddy was getting stressed out with The Dude trying to play puppy games with her so she sought out... ...the safety of higher ground! Stopped off and grabbed the hound on the way back downtown and made it home just after 1am. ...and bone-chewin! After dropping Maddy over at Leigh's, she settled in for some butt-touchin'... Thursday was my last day with the hound before... dropping her off to spend Thanksgiving week down in Hilton Head, SC with my family . ...cool idea - box of sod in a leak-proof box so your dog can pee on reusable grass all week instead of pee pads. Maddy showed some interest right out of the box, but after this one time, I couldn't get her to go near it, nevermind pee on it, again. Cool idea if I could've gotten it to work! Had a bro-down with Grant on Friday! ...then Cat came back to mine for some QT with Maddy. Who wants a treat? Work for it! Later Sunday evening I walked down to the Soho Apple store and got a new computer for my home office! ...but she prefers to hunch herself up alongside the opening! It's designed so that she can climb inside... Got Maddy a new dog bed on Wednesday. I rallied for a late-night pizza party with Jane! Finally got around to unpacking my suitcase and as soon as I unzipped it, Maddy hopped in order to prevent me from taking another trip without her. Haha. Took this one for a long afternoon walk... Excited to have house guests. On Saturday night Maddy threw a party... Monday was Labor Day. Maddy got my up early and we headed over to East River Park. The FDR overpass... Adorable. Met a friend to try out "laying down" yoga. It was nice. Hung out with this one and listened to Fiona Apple on Marc Maron's WTF podcast. Meredith rescued Maddy from my apartment and brought her over in her bag for a tour of the party. ...while walking Maddy by the East River. Tompkins looking lovely. On Tuesday Mer came over to spend some quality time with the hound ladies. As soon as I laid down to read, I got two couch buddies. Spent my Saturday hanging out with these two hounds. Came home to find this one looking like this. Not a big fan of fireworks exploding constantly. ...and sitting with Maddy while she chew some rawhide. Hung out with Jane. I feel like Maddy's selfie-game is really strong lately. I enjoyed the last evening of two whole weeks of two-dog goodness, before Randy came by in the evening to take Edie back home. Miss you, Edie! Later that afternoon, I was hanging out with Maddy and Edie on the couch and accidentally captured this action shot of Maddy jumping up onto the couch! Reunited with Dingus! ...and Edie for their evening walk... Eventually, I had to get up off the couch and do stuff, but I made sure to replace myself with a pillow before leaving. Haha. Little, propped-face fugger. ...to read and stay awake when you've got a sleepy cuddler between your legs. Maddy is like... ...so over it. Loves trotting across the bridge. ...we had a pizza party! ...after she and Maddy were done with their love-fest... On Thursday evening Jane Anne came over... ...constructing a bed of strategically-placed pillows on the living room floor. Maddy loves to get in on some homemade bed action. I tried to keep my mind off of my cricked-neck with podcasts, strawberry ice pops and cuddling my dog's ass with my head. Happy April 2014! All tuckered out! Took Maddy for a super long walk in the nice spring weather. Hung out with Jane Anne... Sing your dog a song! ...and one for this little egg-fan. Hahahaha. The best. Watching my dog enjoy the sun is one of my favorite things. On Saturday afternoon, Meredith came over to hang out and I ended up breaking out my table and giving her a reiki treatment. Saw Maddy snoozing in the sun and couldn't resist giving her a kiss. She stuck her tongue out at the perfect time! Haha. Everybody all settled in to watch TV and... Oh my god, these superfriends. Meredith was in the neighborhood because she was working on getting her name changed back (Awwww, gain a Battjer - lose a Battjer!) and came over for an afternoon pizza party! ...while falling asleep. Haha. When your dog tries to maintain eye contact as long possible... Deep thoughts. The look Maddy gives me when she wants something. This is how I feel about winter by the time that March rolls around. By Tuesday, all the snow had melted and I took Maddy for a nice long walk over to East River Park. All of the trees were ringed with wonderfully-fragrant Christmas tree mulch! Later that night, I took out my suitcase to unpack from my recent trip and I came into the living room to find this heartbreaking scene: Maddy's adorable way of trying to stop me from traveling without her! STOWAWAY! ...Saturday was a warm day and Maddy got to run around and enjoy the melting snow sans-jacket. When you come home late at night and your dog looks at you like WTF.
