Here's to 2013! Happy New Year! My Little Wolf, indeed. It was drizzling rain all day and Maddy didn't want to go outside. Until I came back with these new salmon treats from the pet store. Then we called the dogs over... Such a serious tugger. Ok, now the other one! After dinner, I set up my laptop so Brett & mom could try out the Neurosky headset. Excited to walk this hop-stepper again. Remember when everyone thought the world was going to end on December 21st, 2012? I arrived back from my lovely trip to Paris late on Friday night and was greeted at the apartment by Meredith & Maddy! Thanks again for watching her while I was away, Mer! Meredith and her new roomie, Gina. On my way to the airport on Sunday night, I stopped off at Meredith's new apartment to drop the dog off with her. Maddy napped on my knee. On Saturday afternoon, Grant came over for a visit and we.... On the way home, I stopped by Meredith's apartment and picked up Maddy. Mer came by after lunch to visit with Maddy and take her to the dog park. Afterwards, we sat down and worked on the terms of separation and divorce. (We decided to work together with a mediator instead of getting divorce lawyers. Much more civil, but required a whole lot of talking on our part). Maddy LOVES when Grant sleeps over, but Grant has mixed feelings about his first canine-friendship. On Sunday evening people came over to watch the much anticipated... Maddy's all worn out from making sure that Edie doesn't get to play WITH ANY toys. Thanks so much for having us all over, Leigh & Randy! Two dogs, one lap! Very thankful for this guy. Jeet crashed on the couch and got her legs snuggled by these two idjits. Haha. (I hung out with Catrinel in the evening, but didn't take any pics I guess!) Frozen fruit bars for dessert. Strawberry Popsicle Lounging. I was trying to get a photo of Maddy's head all tucked under Jeet's feet... ...but she woke up when she heard me giggling. Haha. Maddy is too long and wienery to fit on my lap but that doesn't stop her from curling up there all the time. Wants to stay under blankets instead of going for her morning walk! Except for these two. Such tiny legs! When the weather is decent and I don't have to see clients in the morning, Maddy insists on... Sunday was my last day of dog-sitting Edie so I wanted to get my two-houndsworth. Later on, Meredith and I met up to take Maddy to one of her final dog training classes. Trying on a hot dog costume they had lying around. Maddy's low-clearance means she has low tolerance for being out in the snow. She usually makes it about thirty feet before wanting to head home. Reflection portrait of me and the hound. Friday was our fourth day together at Chez Silverman. Mer and Ellen went out to run some errands... ...with this lil long-dog snoozing on my leg. Haha. Walking the beasts. ...and later that afternoon, she and Ellen drove down from her parent's place and rescued me and Maddy! Took this little Tugger to the park. Mer and Maddy. Second day of Memorial Day Weekend. Mer went to the Zoo with her nephews, I took Maddy & Piper to the dog park... Black socks, white shoes. Oh yeah. Getting ready to take the weasel for a walk. Later that afternoon we took Maddy on a long walk across FDR... After I'd finished up work, I spent the rest of the day creating diary entries out of a bunch of photos from the summer of 2010. Spend the afternoon on the daybed with Maddy mapping out all the screens and functionality... Don't worry buddy, we're all headed home! Any time Maddy sees luggage come out, she gets nervous she's going to get left behind and so she tries to make sure she's sitting on one of us at all times. ...our hot dogs roasted in the sun. Getting ready to walk the beast. After coming back from visiting his family late on Sunday night, Doug stayed at our place one last night before heading back to Finland! Saying goodbye to Meredith & Maddy. Homemade salads... Hound dog hate the rain. Friday was Doug's last morning staying with us. We send Maddy in to wake him up! Haha. Such a blankety grimple. Meredith went off for an evening of Johnny Airmart Filipino grocery shopping adventures with Caiti while... Look who I found couch snoozing together in the afternoon? Look what else showed up on my birthday! Doug was in town from Finland. ...and it was a total weinerfest! There were 4 other doxies there besides Maddy. So funny. DOGSCARF! This way! Unnngh! Dachshunds are so stubborn. Maddy is always pulling in the direction she wants to go in. Miniature Maddy! Before heading home, we stopped by Leigh and Randy's to pick up Maddy! Was going to head out to the beach, but ended up hanging around the neighborhood with these three halfwits. Honkfest. Fatty crashed at our place and got to cuddle with Maddy. Maddy flopped down next to Ellen to coach her through the burn. I'm alway asking Meredith to walk or kneel on muscle knots in my back and over the years she's gotten real good at it. Ellen had a sore mid-back and so Mer went to work. Judging us so hard Maddy and Piper chased each other around. Ellen came over on Friday evening. Meredith captured a little bit of my post morning-walk cuddle time with the grimple. On Monday morning Ryan dropped off an Edie with us. Double weinerage! Maddy likes to nuzzle up in your nooks. I spent the rest of the day reading with my buddy. Morning coffee with my buddies. Sun snoozers. Dog smooch time! Watching some Monday night tv with my buddy. What a grimple! She and Jared came over to hang out before heading out into the neighborhood for birthday drinks! LAZY SUNDAY! When timed correctly, a photo of Maddy yawning is basically Odie from Garfield. Haha. Foot snuggler! Did some napping. I like to fall asleep holding Maddy like a smash-nosed football. Haha. On Sunday we got caught trying to bring Maddy onto the bus back to NY (NO DOGS ALLOWED!) and we ended up having to wait 2 hours and spend a lot of money to take the train home. (And we still had had to hide her because dogs weren't allowed on the train either!).
