On Sunday night, Niki came out of her room and into our living room and asked me to help her find her cell phone. So I went into her room and called her cell with my cell so that we could try to locate it by its ring. We both heard the phone, but after looking everywhere, we couldn't find it. So we moved to a different part of the room and I tried calling it again and we were perplexed that it also sounded like it was right near us even though were like ten feet from where we were the first time we called it.
Ten minutes later, we solved the mystery when we realized that the phone fell off the bed and into Niki's jean-cuff and had gotten zipped up into her boot! Hahahaha. (Which is why no matter where we walked it sounded like the phone was "right near us.")
Niki, Meredith and Kim tearing into brunch. (Man, if I walked into a diner to have brunch and saw myself dining with these three, I would fucking hate me.)
The next morning a whole buncha us went to brunch (again!) this time at Clinton Street Bakery. Here's Meredith with Niki looking thrilled about the obligatory "stand around on the street for an entire hour" wait before being seated.
On Saturday morning, we all got up bright and early and hit the Odessa Dinner for some brunch. Clockwise from left: Tom and David from Apartment, Kim, Meredith, Niki and the Fatty. (By the way, check out the brains on the Fatty reading Richard Dawkins a full two years before he became a household name!).
After brunch, Niki found my one of my "secret" books (check out the book's title and Niki's school-teacher expression and try to not laugh) and read excerpts of it out loud to Karen and Kim...
I went into Sarah's room to say hi and found my new roommate Niki in there! Hahaha. Our internet access wasn't working yet so she was at Sarah's borrowing some bandwidth (which, as a former roommate of Sarah's apartment, she's allowed to do!).
On Monday morning our new furniture that we'd purchased on Friday was delivered. Here's our living room filled with boxes. Fast forward a few hours later and...
...and I busted out the decorative bottle of Ouzo (shaped like a Greek Warrior!) that my parents had brought back for me on their trip to Athens. Here's my new roomie Niki admiring him.
On Wednesday, Niki and I went and did some more apartment hunting. We had put in an application for an apt that we really liked, but we wanted to keep looking in case it fell through. This one place we saw was a two bedroom with a backyard and a finished basement that was 3,000 sq. ft! It was INSANE...but also crazy overpriced.
Then we all went to the Pink Pony for a big birthday dinner! (Except I can't remember whose birthday it was...mostly because I am pretty much a horrible person).
On Thursday, future-roomie Niki was gracious enough to come up with present ideas for Meredith's birthday.I ended up getting her some fancy cutlerly, and cooking classes.
