Garbage Omelet: Order at your own risk.
diner
Just a few minutes down the road we spotted the Page Plaze Diner and decided to pull over for some late night food before heading home.
diner
Meredith scored first place in the clean plate club.
diner
No talk. Eat.
diner
Diner styling.
diner
I got an egg, cheese and homefries on a hardroll. Mmmmmmm!
diner
Haha. So excited for pancakes!
diner
At 1pm we left the pool and headed back over to Denny's!
diner
...to the Denny's located in hotel's parking lot!
diner
Black bean quesadilla and salad. Mmmm.
diner
Clean plate club!
diner
On Thursday afternoon I headed out to NJ with Mike DeLuca, Yodle's head of sales to pitch a large client about a partnership. The menu maze at the diner where we ate lunch was a real brain buster.
diner
A diner that's open 24 hours!
diner
Ain't nothing to help you recover the next morning like a big old DINER BREAKFAST! Erika and Scott getting ready to dig into some recovery grub!
diner
Late, late, late night, we went to Odessa and got grill cheeses (Mike put BACON on his!), french fries, pierogies and latkes! Delicious!
diner
Lisa went the breakfast route.
diner
Afterwards, I rode my bike all the way back downtown in the freezing cold and met up with Lisa and Pauly at Niagra. We had a couple of drinks and then decided to hit Odessa for some late night grub.
diner
...the Upper West Side and we ate Big Nick's!
diner
Lonely diner lunch. ("All by myseeeeeeeeelf....").
diner
On Saturday morning, we all got up bright and early and hit the Odessa Dinner for some brunch. Clockwise from left: Tom and David from Apartment, Kim, Meredith, Niki and the Fatty. (By the way, check out the brains on the Fatty reading Richard Dawkins a full two years before he became a household name!).
diner
On Thursday afternoon Grant and I met up for lunch at the Homestyle Cafe (where we pretty much ate lunch together every single day for like 2 years when we worked at Nerve.com / Spring Street). He had a meeting later that week with his friend that's now an editor and Glamour and I was going to try to help him brainstorm and come up wtih story ideas he could pitch.
diner
On Sunday I braved the cold for brunch with the Grizz and David Kreitman (DeeKayEnWhy) and our old diner standby - The Midnight Cafe.
diner
and then drove into some fun, quaint nearby village where we ate a huge ass breakfast for like $4 each.
diner
Meredith and her late night breakfast.
diner
...where we all ate fried stuff smothered in cheese and gravy.
diner
...DISCO FRIES (aka - Brett Fuel).
diner
Brett was starting to lag so we quickly ordered up some...
diner
Noice!
diner
...eating junkfood at the Odessa.
diner
4am found us back in the East Village at Odessa's for some late night grub.
diner
On Wednesday afternoon, Grant and I met up with Carol to celebrate Bastille Day at some French hamburger joint on Ave A. (huh?)
diner
Squinty Siege. After eating, we also went to a strip club, but they wouldn't let us in with cameras and a few other bars, but then it started pouring rain and we decided to call it a night and head back to NYC.
diner
Turns out - there ISN'T ANY! We drove around the town aimlessly for another 35 minutes stopping people and trying to get a bead on something naughty or sexy but came up empty. In the end we headed to a diner because a milkshake will always make things better.
diner
About halfway through the three and a half hour busride, we stopped at this cute little rest stop in the middle of Nowhere, TX. Here's the pic I snapped for posterity's sake.
diner
After karaoke, we headed over to the *ahem* Roxbury Diner (which for as long as we'd known it had always been called the Victoria Diner before the Hatzimihalis family decided to go all weak on us and cash out) for some late night burgers...
diner
Here's Fatty's take on the same incident (if you click here you'll see the original coffee lady in the background and Grant and Fatty laughing at her).
diner
They started off with a lil' sumptin to eat at the Odessa diner on Ave. A (right near St. Mark's). Here's Grant doing his impression of this lady that we saw at a diner when we were down in Asbury Park, NJ for Memorial Day (when her coffee was empty, instead of summoning the waitress over, she just looked down and read her paper while holding her coffee cup and saucer out in the aisle).
diner
So we headed to some greasy spoon joint right on the main drag in Newport.
diner
Bonus points to Pappi for also having a Jersey shirt on. Beach Haven West Reprazent, yo. (Unfortunately for him, he also loses the same amount of Bonus Points for actually reading a menu in a diner. In a real NJ diner, you're just supposed to think about what you want to eat and rest assured knowing that they'll have it.).
diner
Grant makes eyes at the locals.
diner
...which is apparently where Santa eats when he's off duty.Grant makes eyes at the locals.
diner
I was planning on eating somthing late save room for the food at Lisa's house, but when I saw Chicken Fried Steak on the menu (served w/ 2 eggs and hashbrowns), I couldn't resist. In the words of the illustrious Brian Battjer, Sr. "Eating healthy doesn't make you live longer, it just makes it seem longer."
diner
Enroute to Lisa's we stopped to grab a bite at the Wakefield Diner...
