karaoke
I figured "sock guy" was the best the men had to offer that night, but then Kevin Myers hit the stage!
karaoke
and laid down some Britney!
karaoke
Then Amanda went up (in her see-through shirt!)...
karaoke
Here's my little monkey singing I'm a Believer by The Monkees!
karaoke
Ellen's really fun to sing karaoke with because she always ends up picking out songs by guys that let her scream in a low voice. (Sort of the opposite of how I always pick girly songs so that I can sing really high!). Here she is doing Self Esteem by The Offspring!
karaoke
Colin The Karaoke King Dueting!
karaoke
I don't remember what song this guy sang, but I do remember...
karaoke
...Rehab by Amy Winehouse! Hahaha.
karaoke
This guy's a karaoke regular. Usually he sings old school punk rock songs (big surprise there, right?), but this time he was singing...
karaoke
...and browsing the karaoke book looking for songs to sing!
karaoke
...Colin "The King of Karaoke" Schiller was hosting his weekly karaoke party down in the basement of Lit! We said farewell to everyone at The Annex and ten minutes later we were down in a smoky basement...
karaoke
...Jenny Penny's amazing home-karaoke performance! Happy Fourth of July!
karaoke
Gurj on the mic!
karaoke
...and Sarah broke out some KARAOKE VIDEO GAME she'd recently gotten! Some eventually figured out to take this game, combine it with Guitar Hero and add a drum set and it became Rock Band.
karaoke
Monday night I went to Karaoke Killed the Cat at Pianos! Here's Matt, Chris and Lord Easy tearing it up!
karaoke
Happy 31st, Dennis!
karaoke
I was totally drunk at this point and have no recollection whatsoever about what song they sang.
karaoke
Then Dens and Becca did a duet.
karaoke
Then Kevin took the floor.
karaoke
Becca was so taken with his crooning that she couldn't keep her hands off of him!
karaoke
Neither could J.
karaoke
I've been walking the streets at night. Just trying to get it right.
karaoke
So tender that he even got down on his knees to emphasize the tenderness.
karaoke
...Patience by Guns n' Roses.
karaoke
Around 1:30 the crowd at Heathers was starting to thin out so we decided to take the birthday party across the street to Planet Rose for some karaoke! Dens kicked off the jams with a tender, tender version of...
karaoke
Emily's a karaoke MONSTER!
karaoke
...Birthday Karaoke! Don't let her "Who, me? I'm shy!" act fool you.
karaoke
After making sure we were good and "warmed up," we hopped in a cab around 2am and headed down to 2nd on 2nd for some...
karaoke
Point at the ceiling for the big finish!
karaoke
Now it's your turn, crowd!
karaoke
GLORIA!
karaoke
I love, love, love this photo. It looks like we're both taking huge, painful shits on the stage. Hahah.
karaoke
Hahaha.
karaoke
Big ups to Gurj who took my camera and used it to take some of the funniest pictures I've ever seen of me singing karaoke (which is quite an accomplishment when you think about how many photos there are of me singing karaoke).
karaoke
I wasn't even planning on singing, but Chris put on Laura Brannigan's Gloria (which everyone knows is my favorite karaoke song) and he called me up on stage to tackle it duet-style.
karaoke
...and you're like "Oh! That girl's wearing ROLLERSKATES!"
karaoke
Jenny and Gurj went up for a duet! I love in this photo, everything looks totally normal. But then you zoom out a little bit...
karaoke
All emphatic karaoke performances require at least one "kneeling" portion.
karaoke
Shandi on the mic!
karaoke
I like how Sarah is holding out two "rock fists" just like Beavis.
karaoke
Big finale!
karaoke
Halfway through the song, Chris left the stage and brought the rock out into the crowd. (Check out the look Jenny Penny is giving him over there on the left. I love the fact that the girl who decided to wear ROLLERSKATES INDOORS TO KARAOKE is like "I don't know about this guy. Seems like he's going a little overboard.")
karaoke
Hahaha.
karaoke
Singing their signature jam Mr. Roboto by Styx.
karaoke
Then later on that night, we all went over to Pianos for some Karaoke Killed the Cat karaoke action! Here's KKTC hosts, Chris and Matt!
karaoke
Inspired by the madness of the Priestbird show, a bunch of us decided to make some music of our own (er, sort of) at karaoke later that night. Here's the Fatty kicking some SUPER OLD SKOOL Jovi with "Runaway."
karaoke
Rocking out during the musical break.
karaoke
Hahaha.
karaoke
On Wednesday night I went over to 2nd on 2nd from some karaoke. I walked in right in the middle of Ellen doing her signature performance of Metallica's Enter Sandman.
karaoke
After I snapped this pic of Natalka (who I hadn't seen doing karaoke since the Sid and Buddy era of karaoke!), my camera died! Boooo!
karaoke
David and Matt. Happy Birthday, homie! Thanks for all the great karaoke over the years!
karaoke
Right after the "trio to end all karaoke trios" had finished their song, Alyssa teamed up with Horatio for a duet.
karaoke
Awwwwww.
karaoke
Herman used to be a regular back in the Sid & Buddy glory days when they had karaoke down in the basement of Nolita Tavern two or three times a week and shit would get totally OUT OF CONTROL.
karaoke
And the famous (er, at least in my mind) Herman the Cowboy Jew!
karaoke
Wow, just wow. I was going to make a joke about the types of tiny, simple machines that could be powered by harnessing their collective "star power," but I think I'll just stick with "wow" instead.
karaoke
Besides Herman, there were even some "real" famous people there. You know you've made it in the karaoke world when Horatio Sanz, Jimmy Fallon, and Dennis Haskins (aka - "Mr. Belding" from Saved By The Bell) team up to sing as a trio at your birthday party!
karaoke
"........liiiiiiiiiiiiiife!"
karaoke
Check out Karen totally killing Jenny with the old "Get a load of this guy!" Hahaha.
karaoke
And right at the end of the night we were treated to another very special Karen & Jenny Penny duet.
karaoke
Amanda!
karaoke
Our homegirl that was dancing along with us all night finally got called up to sing and she totally killed it.
karaoke
Karen and Jenny found a song in the book and started screaming about it, but refused to tell anyone what song they'd found.
karaoke
...but from this photo of Matt pretending he's putting his foot up on a monitor, I'm going to venture a guess and say it was probably something by Iron Maiden. "Run to the hills....run for your..."
karaoke
Just when Matt had recovered from Jenny and Karen's rendition of one of his band's songs, he was called up to sing! I don't remember what song it was...
karaoke
...it should most definitely start these two.
karaoke
If they ever decide to make a reality show about two girls who get drunk and sing karaoke duets together...
karaoke
They hit the stage and it turned out to be a Taking Back Sunday song...
karaoke
Action shot of Benjamin popping his cherryoke!
karaoke
After some stalling, Benjamin hit the stage and sang karaoke for the first time ever!
karaoke
Amanda came and met us at karaoke
karaoke
Her soulful-stylings inspired some tranny-dancing!
karaoke
Shruti and Sarah rushed the stage to sing backup for this dude.
karaoke
Jenny Penny and Sarah duet!
karaoke
Then Kevin and Dennis teamed up for a DUET!
karaoke
Dennis Crowley hit the stage around 3:30 for his signature Wanted Dead of Alive, another can't-miss crowed-pleaser from the Jov.
karaoke
A few times, there were songs picked that resulted in the crowd rushing the stage and turning it into a group sing-a-long.
karaoke
Kevin K. took the stage and was joined by John Carney who helped him out with some interpretive dancing!
karaoke
The Lewitinns! Lawrence and Sarah doing a sibling duet!
karaoke
On Thursday night I went to The Annex to celebrate Lawrence's birthday! He'd decided to have a karaoke party and this year got Lord Easy & Chris Goldteeth to host the festivities!
karaoke
Then Mandy came up for a birthday-boy duet!
karaoke
Here they are kicking off the night (and you can see the tuxedoed birthday boy in the background). (Bonus points to Lord Easy for his homemade Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five On the Strength shirt!)
karaoke
Feeling it.
karaoke
Soooo good!
karaoke
I teamed up with Chris and we sang You Give Love (A Bad Name).
karaoke
Happy Birthday, Brother Lawrence! I love that he wore a tux. So great. All the photos that have the red "ST" logo in the bottom left corner were taken by Brad Walsh for Stolen Transmission and I stole a bunch of his pictures because 1) They're great. And 2) because I was so busy getting drunk and singing karaoke that I didn't take as many pics as I normally do!
karaoke
Lawrence and Chris.
karaoke
She ended up diving off the stage and mixing it up with the crowd!
karaoke
This night was probably one of the best karaoke nights I've ever been to (and I've been to A LOT of karaoke). Pretty much every single person that hit the stage went full-out and sang their heart out. So when it was finally my turn to sing, I knew I had no choice but to go with some Jovi.
karaoke
See what I mean about it being an epic karaoke night?
karaoke
Hahaha. Chris and I rocking dueling air guitars.

Here's a video (that I LOVE) that Dennis Crowley shot of Chris and I singing this song.
karaoke
Kimila! I girl SLAYS at karaoke!
karaoke
...a motherfucking STAGE DIVE into the crowd! Thanks again to Brad Walsh for being there with a camera, otherwise this moment would've been lost to history forever!
karaoke
Then afterwards, I went over to Pianos for Karaoke.
karaoke
Right after I arrived, Timmy went up to sing...
karaoke
...Balthazar Getty Liev Schreiber, Rosie Perez...
karaoke
Then handed off the second mic to some girl and turned her solo into a duet!
karaoke
It was also right around this time that we realized that most of the other people that were singing karaoke with us were actors. Apparently, they were all working on a movie that was filming nearby. Anybody have any idea what movie filmed in 2006 starred Matthew Lillard...
karaoke
There wasn't much of a stage, so Amanda hopped up on a crate and got everyone's attention by doubling-up on the mics!
karaoke
...and Sam Rockwell?
