We got piled with snow on our very last day in NYC before our trip down to Florida for New Year's Eve! Here's a photo with a flash. Brett improvised and used his sunglasses as goggles. Haha When we got outside it was snowing SO HARD! After we'd finished our gift extravaganza, it was time to walk the hounds. After cleaning out my office and getting rid of a bunch of stuff, I made a trip over to home depot to pick up some rolling casters... Leon is the second-largest city in Nicaragua. It's filled with Spanish colonial buildings. Exploring. Monday, 9am. Marigold. Night walk. Neat clouds. New York is neat because sometimes visiting another neighborhood you haven't been to in a while feels like you're visiting a whole other city. Lady chat. ...and over to the theater district... Had some time before the bus came so I got some empanadas. Mmmm. Noticed that the leaves across the street are just starting to change color on my walk to work in the morning. Later that night I went out to dinner with Siege and Dwight in Williamsburg. Still pretty out. On our walk west to get something to eat, we had to wade through this Broseph line up. October means the beginning of Oktoberfest at Zum Schneider. It was a beautiful fall afternoon and we walked all the way back home. ...a wedding photo shoot. When we got to the Brooklyn side, we stumbled upon... Graffiti and laundry. I love this view. Long walk up. ...the Manhattan Bridge. Down to Bowery and over... Later that Saturday afternoon, Meredith and I had to go out to Brooklyn to attend Marina & Fatty's baby shower. We decided to walk it. Down Ave C to Pitt Street. Bonus street carnival. Next, we walked back over to the other side of the park... ...and took this little champ for a walk. Woke up early on a sunny Saturday... ...walked east... ...crossed FDR over to East River Park... After appreciating the waterfront monuments, we wandered into town proper... ...and walked up Avenue C to pick up our rental car. ...and we headed over to East River Park... Saturday was nice out! We ran some errands... Headed home. Headed back home! Maddy likes to drag her wienery body through the grasses of suburbia. Kim, Jessie & Matt. A little after noon, Mer and I met up with Matt, took the subway out to Brooklyn... All lit up. Crazy colors. Mystery fruits. ...it's just a quick walk through Chinatown to get to VEGGIE DIM SUM! Woooo! We got to Beach 60th a little after 2pm. Walking to the bridge to get a cab. We went down the street from his place... Walked the bike path over. We even found parking relatively close! ...into downtown Easton... On Sunday we took the train back out to Far Rockaway. Under the subway platform and to the beach. The entire street was lined with the cars of party attendees. Action shot walking over to the van. Check out the new Thom Mayne-designed Cooper Union building on Bowery. It's weird and wonderful. Back home. Later that afternoon, we took all the dogs over to the park and there was a special surprise waiting there for Maddy... ...then we walked downtown to Grand Street. I love this photo! On Sunday afternoon Meredith and I walked down to Chinatwon. It snowed overnight and the trees were dusted in white. I didn't even know this place even closed! Things get literal on the LES/Chinatown border. Haha. Later that night we walked through the sleeting night... Quiet East Village. First walk of 2010! Happy 2010 ! I got up a little after noon to take the dog for a walk. The streets felt deserted.
