Meredith and I have the same exact eye-glass prescription which is awesome because either one of us can pick up and use the first pair of glasses that are around. Here she is wearing my "Larry Davids" (they polarize in the sun...noooo!), while I'm rocking her sassy "Sally Jessys"!
I opened the fridge to discover that Meredith had been up late the previous night melting all sorts of candy down and pouring it into molds. White and dark chocolate fish!
...and Meredith was stoked to get Squidy with some "crisp and delicious baked cuttlefish. Mmmmmm! (Anyone who shuddered reading this that also eats beef jerky, needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror.)
After a drink or two, we were feeling a bit sleepy and decided to hit bed so that we'd be on local time the next day. Before turning in, we stopped at a store and picked up some schnacks. Mmmm....Beng Beng!
Well, if you guessed "Peanut Buttered Roast Squid," you are CORRECT, sir! (I literally blew my kids' minds when I told them I didn't like the peanut buttered squid. They were like "Why teacher, why? It's sooooo good!"
...I decided to sample some of the local amusement park delicacies. I was craving a funnel cake, but couldn't find one so I ended up having to settle for this. Can you use the illustrations on the box to guess the tasty treat inside? (The answer was in English on the reverse side).
She's a bad workout influence! Not only did we leave the gym early because her "wrist hurt," she also managed to talk me into eating a "big bag" of Honey Roasted Cashews immediately afterwards (not that I really needed all that much convincing). You evil little treat hound!
After an hour in the sun, some of the (many) treats we'd purchased on the car ride out, especially the chocolately ones, had gotten gooey. Rather than having to squirt it out of the wrapper like toothpaste, Grant decided to chill that motherfucker out in the ocean to return it to a more solid state. (Mmmmmmm....delicious Fastbreak).
A bus trip really ain't a bus trip unless you manage to enjoy a shoddy-ass microwave sandwich en route. Extra points if consumed beofre 7am. Mmmm...breakfast.
Jamie Kirkpatrick brough some delicious birthday Pocky! (For those of you not in tha know, Pocky is a brand of all these different flavored cracker sticks that are usually dipped in something delightful. Grant's shown holding the mint-chocolate variety here).
You know you got accidentally shitfaced when your cravings for a salty, fatty snack become so intense that you actually end up consuming a bag of something that's called "Mr. Porky Pork Scratching."
...and authentic English snacks! An assortment of cured meats and English crumpets (which are basically taste like if you took a Thomas' English Muffin and cubed its deliciousness).
After a light dinner at home, we were still feeling carsick from the overly bumpy (and long) ride home. We decided to take it easy at the condo. We even managed to find a delicious granola snack that described our photoshoots earlier on in the day.
So after stocking up on snacks, we drove to some state park. We parked the car and walked over to this big old lake - our plan was to go swimming. But it turned out that "swimming season" was over and there were all these park rangers walking around making sure no one swam. (Booooo!). So instead we all laid down in this big field and I took a nap. And then out of nowhere, storm clouds rolled in so we decided to hop back in the car and spend the rest of the day...
