crowd
Scott crooning to the crowd.
crowd
Lisa's face says it all.
crowd
Total funsanity.
crowd
See how packed the place was?
crowd
After getting drinks, we went to the DJ booth - the only place in the whole bar where you could drink your drink without someone else rubbing their sweaty, bare arms all over you!
crowd
I rode my bike over a little after midnight. The line to get in was totally out of control! It went from the door, to the corner of the block...
crowd
...and people pose for the second photo! Girl with the blue scarf striking a "sassy" pose, I'm talking to you!
crowd
...and then all the way around the building to the next block! PS. - You know it's a line for MisShapes when you take a photo of the crowd...
crowd
Grant! I know you still read this site! What do you think - is that guy with the braids in the yellow shirt THE smelly braids guy that almost handed you a beat down after he almost caught you SNIFFING HIS HAIR waaaay back in the day???. EPIC LOL.

Anyway, the crowd was a little strange (in that it wasn't that strange)...
crowd
I hung out for a song or two and danced and then called it a night!
crowd
Apache Bar closed down around 2am and the entire bar headed over to a bar called Hippies has a bar right on the water and was still serving!
crowd
We ended up on the other side of the island (right near our hotel) at a place called Apache Bar that's right on the water.
crowd
MonsterMask (ok, and Jackson) got the crowd dancing...
crowd
We were sort of disappointed with the turn out. We were hoping that the stadium would be FILLED with washed-up metal honeys looking to relive the "glory days" of hair metal, but the place was less than half full!
crowd
On Monday night I went to Piano's for a very special Karaoke Killed the Cat party...
crowd
Check out the crowd!
crowd
And the Cyclone!
crowd
Everyone always jumps around and throws their hands up in the air and dances their asses off.
crowd
On with the dance party! My favorite part of all weddings is when the DJ invariably plays Shout by The Isley Brothers.
crowd
After everyone was finished eating, disco lights came on which meant it was time for...
crowd
Party people getting their apps on during cocktail hour.
crowd
The crowd waiting outside for the appearance of the brand new bride and groom!
crowd
After making sure we were good and "warmed up," we hopped in a cab around 2am and headed down to 2nd on 2nd for some...
crowd
...and we went to the big tent dance party down on the quad. (Meredith was really drunk and tired and decided to call it a night around 1am).
crowd
On Wednesday night I went all the way over to the Meatpacking District to visit Leigh who was DJing at some new club that had opened up over there.
crowd
The band came out and the place went nizzuts.
crowd
The crowd watched in awe as...
crowd
After the show, Matt and I hopped in a cab and went to some awful club in the Meat Packing District (that if I remember correctly) was hosting the Five O'Clock Heroes afterparty(???).
crowd
...at Apt 3a!
crowd
Shruti and Sarah rushed the stage to sing backup for this dude.
crowd
A few times, there were songs picked that resulted in the crowd rushing the stage and turning it into a group sing-a-long.
crowd
Crowd shot. Here's a picture that Brad took of Dennis filming the video above. I dare you to get more meta than that.
crowd
See what I mean about it being an epic karaoke night?
crowd
2am and Murray Hill - and it was STILL mobbed! (Totally worth it, though.)

On Saturday night Fatty and I went to go see the Borat movie. It had opened the night before to huge crowds, which we (mistakenly) thought we could avoid by going to see the 2am showing in Murray Hill!

I got a text from my friend Miye that she and a bunch of her girlfriends were hosting a karaoke party at 205. I wasn't going to go all the way down there alone, but then I figured I'd at least try texting Amanda before blowing it off (since she's is the only person I know who's insane enough to entertain a "wanna go to karaoke?" text at 1:30am on a Monday night. Hahaha). We got there a little before 2am and found the place in full-effect!

crowd
Tuesday night I went over to the meat packing district to the place that used to be called G0! (who knows what it's called these days...you know you're old when you're just content to call a place what it used to be called years ago)...

Shit ruled.
crowd
If you ever get a chance to see Lifetime play - you should check them out!
crowd
It was first time I ever saw a crowd at the Bowery Ballroom drop their "New York cool" and freak out.
crowd
I keed, I keed. Despite what the above two photos would lead you to believe, the band actually whipped the crowd into a frenzy.
crowd
And they even managed to get another guy to flash his man-tits spring break style!
crowd
...to do this. Hahaha.
crowd
The place was PACKED!
crowd
...and then headed over to the basement of the Annex for a dance party...
crowd
Karen, Jenny and I rocked out...
crowd
A little before 9:30, the band came out and the place went APESHIT.
crowd
Karen included.
crowd
Hahahah. Best fangirl shot ever!
crowd
We were so lucky to get to sit in an area that was roped-off because the rest of the place was PACKED!
crowd
After the ballroom closed, the entire party headed down to a bar in the basement of the hotel. Here's everyone drunkenly welcoming the second arrival of the bride and groom!
crowd
Everyone formed two lines, held hands...
crowd
...and made a tunnel for Emma and Rob to walk through! Hahaha.

If, by the time I die, tombstones with embedded video screens are commonplace, someone please make sure that this photo makes it into the cemetery slideshow. Thanks. (Photo by Leo Zacharias)
crowd
The audience.
crowd
The competition was held in a huge banquet hall down in Chinatown called Grand Harmony Restaurant. Here's a shot of the audience around 10pm waiting for the karaoke to begin!
crowd
Here's the crowd waiting for the band to come out.
crowd
How about getting to stand ON the stage to watch your favorite band of all time perform for one of the first times in over 10 years? After hiding out under the stadium and getting (pretty, pretty, pret-ty) drunk, we ran over to the back of the main stage. I got up there all out of breath, and was frantically asking people "Did Lifetime play yet? Did Lifetime play yet?" Then I turned around and...
crowd
Well, first - we got to stand right up against the stage and we had barricades behind us which spared us from having to rub against thousands of sweaty kids in the heat . Here's a shot of crowd we were able to escape while getting front row seats to watch Panic! at the Disco.
crowd
On Saturday Fatty and I went to go sneaker shopping in Soho and ended up running into a huge anti-war protest that was coming down Broadway.
crowd
We stood off to the side and cheered on the protesters.
crowd
The crowd was entertained, though! Well, everyone in the crowd except for Larson! He's the guy in the navy shirt who's totally just glaring and waiting for her to hurry up and finish so that his turn to sing can happen sooner).
crowd
And one of the girls that wasn't a bridesmaid caught it! Scandalous!
crowd
...and threw it to the ladies!
crowd
Here's everybody clapping because he did such a good job blowing out ALL THOSE candles.
crowd
Here's the wedding party / karaoke crowd as seemnfrom the stage at 4am when they announced the bar was closing and everybody had to leave!
crowd
Congrats Matt and Kate! May you have a long and happy life together and thanks for inviting me to the most fun wedding I've ever been to!
crowd
...into the crowd!
crowd
...and here's everyone!
crowd
Despite it being so-so, we stayed and danced until closing.
crowd
Madonna at the decks at Misshapes. Who woulda ever thunk it, huh? I stuck around for the first song, but there wasn't room to dance (or even breathe), so while the place continued to go absolutely bonkers, I managed to squeeze my way back through the crowd and snuck downstairs.
crowd
I finally managed to squeeze my way through the crowd and ended up against the wall near the DJ booth...
crowd
Turns out we picked a cherry spot! Madonna had to walk right in front of us in order to get to the booth.
crowd
When we got there, it was absolute fucking pandemonium. The upstairs was so packed, you could hardly move.
crowd
A few minutes later, a limo pulled up outside and the place went fucking apeshit.
crowd
There was finally room to dance upstairs!
crowd
The view of Movida from the weird eye-hole booth.
crowd
These two even took a dancefloor time-out so they could up the ante and make out on the couch! Ooooh, illicit!
crowd
Everywhere I looked people were making out!
crowd
...makeout party!
crowd
Ugh. We were just about to leave when we realized there was a special line for "guests of Mr. Feldman." Sweet!
crowd
Who else but Corey Feldman would have their birthday part at Crobar on a Saturday night. This is what the crowd looked like when we showed up.
crowd
Neckerchief aside, they always managed to get the crowd going. (Jesse and Jared are in a new band called Generals & Majors that are really, really fun live - they're like a glammy version of The Misfits and they have a singer named RatBite. No shit. If you live in NYC, do yourself a favor and try to attend one of their shows).
crowd
Later that night we all headed over to some Elle Girl magazine party that Leigh...
crowd
People dancin.
crowd
After the show we headed to Misshapes to celebrate Heidi's bday.
crowd
The crowd got even bigger as...
crowd
Crowd shot.
crowd
After our nap, we hit the town and headed to the MTV2 party to see..
crowd
If you look really carefully, you might be able to pick out the drunk birthday girl in the crown.
crowd
With "the party" in full-effect, it was time for the crew to get the rest of "the set" ready.
crowd
The place was fucking packed. Hot Chip and Maximo Park were both playing warm up shows before leaving to play SXSW later on in the week.
crowd
Old school Misshapes, I miss you.
crowd
We were immediately innundated to the relaxed Jamaican attitude that we'd heard so much about when he hit the mother of all lines trying to get through Jamaican immigration. No rush at all, mon!
crowd
Friday was my last night in town before my trip and I went to some party the Misshapes were DJing at Rafifi to say goodbye to the Tinny.
crowd
Saturday night we hit Misshapes and I danced so much (hey, remember when there actually used to be room to dance there?) that I forgot to take any pictures.
crowd
Crowded smoky sweaty.
crowd
On Wednesday night I went to the Shindig party to see my friend Anthony's band, The Five O'Clock Heroes, play.
crowd
The best part of Misshapes is after it's closed and they kick everyone out except for the totally wasted party people who still want to get their dance on and...
crowd
Forget Madonna! Isn't that motherfucking Jeff Garland from Curb Your Enthusiasm on the dance floor?
