On Monday afternoon I went out with Leigh and on the way to see her brand new apartment she was getting ready to move into we noticed that the magazine store on her new corner featured a magazine in their window with Leigh on the cover! Incognito!
OMG. Back in the day, Leigh used to be out late every single weeknight in the Lower East Side - so much so that she became friends with some of the garbage men that had that route and they used to give her and her roommate Jessica rides home to make sure they got home safely. Haha. We got out of Lawrence's party and when a garbage truck passed us, Leigh hailed it like a taxi AND THE GUY STOPPED. Hahaha. Let's hear it for free rides!
I can't really drink until it's dark out (I don't know why!). But luckily, it was already dark outside at 5pm in December, plus The Annex doesn't have any windows (it's like a casino in there) so we all started getting our drinky drink on. Mer and Leigh.
On Wednesday night I went over to the new New Museum on Bowery for some art opening party that Leigh was hosting. There was a huge line around the block outside, but baby girl came downstairs and escorted me in. Awww, fwiends. On the elevator ride up to the top floor, we made faces in the mirror behind the crowd.
Later that night we went across the street to visit Greg who was djing at Bowery Electric. We brought along a sprouty lil' bulb of garlic that we found in Leigh's fridge. He was sorta steenky!
I walked into the kitchen and Leigh was turned sideways trying to hide the veggie chicken nuggets she'd just heated up. When I asked her, "Well, well, what do we have here?"
The ladies sat down and I was like "Ok, everyone show off your tits!" Sarah and Leigh didn't fall for it! (I love how Leigh is laughing and Sarah is predicting that both Jenne and Leigh would fall for it).
Take two! Right after I took this photo, I showed Jenne and she was like "WHAT? That's terrible!" At first I thought she was talking about being the only one falling for the ol' "show off yer tits" trick, but she told me "I don't care about that - I care about the fact that the shadow from my shirt where my thighs come together make it look like I have a HIGH WIDE THIGH-VAGINE!" Which we decided can also be called "a low-pussy."
Awwww, me and my favorite NJ-ladies! In order to show some home-state pride, we decided that we were going to try to spell out N.J. with our bodies. After that not working at all...
...we asked ourselves what we could spell out with three letters to represent NJ. How about EWR? (Newark's airport code!). Hahaha. We reviewed this photo and decided that while Sarah nailed her "E," Leigh and I definitely needed to tighten up our sloppy WR situation.
Yodle's old offices were located on 39th St and 8th Ave. On Tuesday afternoon I was headed back to the office after lunch and I noticed a certain familiar someone on the giant GAP billboard that they'd recently put up...
Awww, nappy-nap time! Nothing is funnier than trying to be really quiet around sleeping people that you're kind of fucking with and after I took this photo we were both laughing hysterically but also trying to be as silent as possible.
Check out the truck parked right outside of the bar! I asked Leigh and Karen to strike sexy, slutty-girls-in-an-automotive-calendar poses and this is what they came up with. YES!
By the time we finally motivated to leave the apartment, it was 3am (which is pretty much the best time to start your night in our neighborhood because it's the hour when the invading hordes of visitors call it a night and head home!)
Then it was time for ring shopping! I didn't take many photos of the actual shopping. Except for this one of Leigh throwing up some blue steel with some of the models that were plastered on the wall in one of the stores that we went into.
Leigh's the only human I know who can pull a face like this and still look pretty hot. Like, if her face looked like this ALL the time, I'd still be down. (Just sayin.)
Walking Leigh back to her apartment, we passed this awesome sign for a psychic. Leigh was in the midst of doing an impression of the lady on the sign and saying something and this is the result.
When we got to San Loco and pointed out the buildings across the street, Jenny STILL didn't recognize any of them. So we ended up having to take her giant comedy-keyring and try all the keys in three different doors until we finally unlocked a door! We walked her all the way upstairs and even made sure she got into bed without setting the place on fire or something. Mission accomplished!
A little past 5am we finally got someone on the phone (Sarah maybe?) that didn't know Jenny's exact address, but knew that it was "across the street from San Loco on Stanton." So we mobilized!
At this point, it's close to 5am and Meredith was losing patience. (Well, we all were, but Meredith was the first to snap!). She was like "Jenny, it's 5am and you don't remember where you live! Why don't you come crash at our place?" Jenny refused and explained that she had to be at the apartment at 8am because movers were coming to get all her stuff - she and her boyfriend Josh were taking the big leap and moving in together! Meredith was like "Well if you're not going to come stay with us and you don't know where you live, I am going home!" She wished Leigh and I luck and hailed a cab. Hahahaha.
Jenny has no recollection of this whatsoever! When I first showed her these photos, she was laughing and she asked "What in the world was I eating? What are those, cookies?" I told her, "No, they were chicken nuggets." Jenny groaned really loud and said, "Oh, nooooo! I'm a vegetarian!" Hahahaha.
I also love how the whole time all this nugget-eating is going on, Leigh's calling and texting people in Jenny's phone at 4:40am trying to figure out where her apartment is.
Turns out that these were plates from the buffet at the MSG after party. Jenny had taken a whole bunch of food from the buffet, put it between two glass plates, wrapped it in a napkin and put it in her purse. But the napkin had come undone...
It's after 4am at this point, and in the midst of Leigh and Sarah getting ready to pack up their stuff, Jenny ran into the dj booth and started busting out her cans again!
OMFG. I'm writing this entry after a totally crummy day at work and this photo just instantly made me able to forget my bad day. Hahah. Check out LURKER totally getting his half-hearted party on with the ladies.
A couple minutes later we're up six people (seven if you count THE LURKER in the corner). Check out Jenny Penny popping out a, uhhh, valentine for Marisa. (And is that Paul Hanley in the hoodie?)
