We got up super early on Wednesday morning and walked down to the beach... A little later that afternoon, we rented a scooter and drove over to... As we got further north, the bus cleared out until we were the only people left on it. Early on Monday morning, Grant arrived on the red eye from Vancouver. He dropped his bag off at our apt and we... Hold on tight! Sunday was our last day out in Rockaway! Beach was still pretty sweet, though. We headed over to the beach to survey the damage... On Saturday afternoon we walked a block over to Tompkins Square Park... I took the day off on Friday! Ran errands with this one. ...and waiting for the rest of the Great Adventure gang to arrive. ...the beach! ...joined forces with Pauly & Cynthia and drove out to Queens for a day at... A little after noon, Mer and I met up with Matt, took the subway out to Brooklyn... I love this picture! Thanks for being my boo, boo. Pinchy! ...and headed crosstown to the UCB Theater. Team Hobo forever. We stayed until just after 5pm. On Sunday we went to Meredith's parents house. We found these glasses in the basement. We packed up our things a little before four. We managed to leave the apartment early on Saturday to head to Far Rockaway! We sat on nearby park bench and enjoyed our still-warm donuts in the spring sunshine. On Saturday morning, we walked over to St. Marks to stock up on cheapo $5 sunglasses... Ready to get your joust on? ...pick up $5 sunglasses. Meredith got these guys (I don't think I ever saw them again).... ...and had brunch on the sidewalk. Later that afternoon, we went to the dog park and ran into Matt. Saturday was a beautiful spring day so we walked around the neighborhood and found a brand new place on 4th Street to get brunch. Haha. Later in the afternoon, we wandered around the town on foot. Mer did a bunch of souvenir shopping... ...on a rafting trip! Haha. Here's Meredith all decked out. Mer doesn't like scuba diving (she has trouble equalizing the pressure in her ears) but she was excited to snorkel around the reef while we were diving. After breakfast, we relaxed in lounge chairs on the beach... One last photo of us in our nice clothes before heading back to the hotel to change. Thumbs up showing off our new rings! We got slices on the boardwalk. Awesome day at the beach. Transfer to the A at Broadway Junction. The connecting hallway between stations has stain glass windows. We rented a car and picked up Murdo on our way heading north to Salisbury, CT. Returning the van. All dressed up! Around 3pm, we headed back to our rooms to get dressed. Meredith put on her amazing polka-dot party dress. <3 ...rent a van and drive up to the wedding together! Roadtrip! ...Ellen, Katie, Siege... On Saturday morning, Mer and I hopped in a cab and headed crosstown to meet up with... We got to the park and there were hundreds of people with daschunds! ...to attend Daschund Day in Washington Square Park ! Beaky and Gimpy. ...and took the golf cart out onto the empty course for some eagerly anticipated High-Speed Drunk Driving on the Totally Empty Golf Course (highly recommended, btw) and watched the sunset. Haha. Yay, Christmas in Florida! Ta-da! Me and Mer. I love how you can tell that Mer's eyes are still focused on my dad's mustache. Hahaha. Matt and Meredith. Hahaha. ...and Meredith was taking bottles she'd saved, cutting them in half, sanding their rough edges smooth and turning them into drinking glasses for our apartment. Hahahaha. LOVE. On Sunday afternoon I came home from running around to find Meredith sitting at the kitchen table wearing sunglasses indoors and filing glass cups with a DREMEL? Haha. Happy to be home! ...we hit the beach. Check out my hot-pink sunburned chest. That's what happens when I try to go to the beach before 2pm! Almost five hours later , I woke this one up... We woke up Sunday morning and it was still overcast! But by noon, it started to look like it might turn into a nice day. While the clouds were disappearing, we hailed a longtail boat... On the ride back to our hostel, we gave up our seats in the cab and sat in pickup bed where we got to enjoy a little over an hour of 65 MPH winds! Here we are showing off our brand new Thai sunglasses that we purchased with our Red Bulls for a whopping grand total of $5! Officer Silverman. And we're off! Mom's home! Leigh came over to pick up Edie and she and Meredith modeled their matching shades. I love how Edie's sunglasses are sitting on her snout and her little doggy legs are just hanging down all slack.
