...I built a website to showcase two examples of t-shirts that have designs that change over time as they wear out.
computer
Did a little bit of work on this site.
computer
I spent the afternoon taking Vin's awesome drawing and scanning it into my computer for my Temporary Tees idea.
computer
Friday I was back at Yodle working on getting the first Pictimonial test live!
computer
Haha.
computer
Every time I practice meditation I use the Neurosky to record my brainwaves and then you can chart how your brain is changing (if at all) over time! Pretty neato, right?
computer
...and listened to Metallica...
computer
I spend the rest of the day working on my presentation for PechaKucha in Whistler, BC!
computer
...I consulted my sneaky list hidden under the corner of my monitor...

Laptop pillow.
computer
A really cool thing about the Neurosky Mindwave is software that allows you to record brainwave information during meditation sessions and chart those data over time!
computer
The headset measures 8 brainwaves (Delta, Theta, Low Alpha, High Alpha, Low Beta, High Beta, Low Gamma & High Gamma) and also has a chip-set algo that reads these 8 wave-forms in real time and outputs them in two additional channels called "attention" (one-pointedness of mind) and "meditation" (openness of mind).

Ellen's turn!

Vanessa seeing her brainwaves on the computer screen for the first time!
computer
On Thursday evening, I finally managed to get the NeuroSky headset I ordered working with my computer! The headset is a BCI (brain-computer interface) that measures your brainwaves in real-time and sends a stream of data wirelessly to your computer where it can be used to interact with computer programs.

Here's a photo of my playing one of the simple games that comes installed where you try to make barrels on the screen explode by focusing your attention on them.
computer
Gurj is a barrel-exploding JEDI!
computer
And we stayed up late looking at photos on my computer. Ellen gets tired waiting two years for me to post photos on this site, so sometimes when she's over she likes to get a sneak peeks into what's coming down the line (eventually). Hahah.
computer
Good times.
computer
I designed the new look in Photoshop, and then once I had something I liked, I spend a bunch of time trying to relearn CSS (shit keeps changing and it's harder and harder to keep up!) and make my code match my design. (Remember for years and years my site used to look like this?)
computer
I spent the day gorging myself on said holiday cookies and working on a new CSS template for this site!
computer
I came home to find Meredith hard at work on lesson plans to teach kids the fundamentals of computer programming using MIT's SCRATCH programming language!
computer
After everyone else went to bed, I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning watching MOST of this show. Haha.
computer
After they got back later that evening, we watched Stefon SNL clips and gorged ourselves on COOKIES! (Peanut butter cookies with a Hershey kiss on top are my FAVORITE!)
computer
Later that night I used an adapter I'd recently purchased to copy all the data off a bunch of IDEs I had laying around. (Oh, the things we do to keep our data around).
computer
Tacos fix everything.
computer
Between sets, Meredith worked on Scratch lesson plans.
computer
Office.
computer
Fantastically, entertaining though.
computer
Fatty came over on Wednesday night!
computer
Office.
computer
Then shit got tele-international.
computer
Sarah asked if she could use my computer to look at something new of the interwebs called Chat Roulette! (Man, this already seems like 10 years ago?!?).

After the game, we all piled into the office...

On Saturday I bought an 88-key MIDI controller and tried a few different learning programs.
computer
I spent Monday night writing captions for the Nerve Party and Karaoke Times Two entry. (On my screen you can see the interface for the content management system that I wrote to publish this site!)
computer
Turns out they were going through Siege's photos of Dave and Marina's wedding!
computer
On the way up to the roof, I found these four huddled around Siege's computer screens laughing and smiling.
computer
Leigh was in another country for work (Spain?) for a couple of weeks so later that night we had a tele-party via iChat. Miss you, roomie!
computer
And laughed our asses off typing the beginnings of racist questions into Google. Their "auto suggest" feature is basically a window into the collective mind of modern man. "Why do men..., why do women..., why do white guys, ...why do honkies..., why do asians..., why do asian men..." There's no end to the fun you can have with this.
computer
First video chat! Leigh looks like Snow White.
computer
His main computer monitor (that he uses mostly for gaming) is a 40" flatscreen. Big kids all growed up.
computer
As soon as I got home that night, I downloaded the Android SDK and tried to write a Notepad application. I had marginal success, but gave up like 2 days later when the Android App market was flooded with like 200 version of Notepad apps.

My computer, which I'd purchased in 2002 and had been steadily upgrading for six years, finally met its match when I tried to run the Eclipse editor for Java. Every time I tried to compile, it would take like 10 minutes. Guess it's finally time for a new computer. *Sniffle*

After craft time we decided to watch Peep Show Season 5. If you haven't seen Peep Show yet, you should check it out. Easily one of the funniest shows ever made.
computer
Amanda and Cynthia manned the music station, made a party-playlist...
computer
...time to bid my evil work computer farewell for the next 40 days or so! See you later, fucker! I'M ON VACATION!
computer
After we were done at the reserve, we headed back to the resort! Meredith hopped on the internet to do some emailing, and I headed out to the boat for a two-tank afternoon dive!
computer
Awww, yeah. This is the computer where all the I Keep a Diary magic happens! (Er, or at least this is what the set-up looked like back in June of 2006!). I was hard at work updating the site when Meredith convinced me to stop being a nerd and head up to Times Square (on a Friday night? Crazytown!) to go to...
computer
As anyone who's been over my apartment can attest, as soon as someone comes near my computer, I'm always overtaken by the NEED to show them all the funny videos and/or pictures I've recently found. So with a huge audience crammed into my tiny room, it was no surprise that I busted out my favorite video of all time - the video of the teenage boy that tries to launch a bottle rocket out of his asshole.

At some point we noticed that Frank had disappeared from the party. We found him in my room checking football scores (???) on my computer!
computer
I hooked it up to my newer computer and spent a whole bunch time browsing my old files and copying over anything of interest before I f-disked it and put it up on craigslist.
computer
On Tuesday after work I headed over to Sarah's apartment to finish packing up the stuff I'd left in the room I'd been subletting in her apartment. I put it all into her little grocery handcart and pushed it over to the our apartment I 5 short blocks away.
computer
We commissioned Vin as our vandal, er, artist...and on Sunday (with seven days left until Fatty's birthday), he came over to my apartment to look at pictures of Fatty and start sketching out some ideas for the mural.
computer
Vin went through a ton of my photos and picked out 4 or 5 pics of Fatty to work from.
computer
Friday I went over to Tinny's to help her set up her brand new computer (that she had to buy because her laptop was on its deathbed).
computer
Meredith and Amy dorking away on the interweb.
computer
Here's Fatty later on that night at my place checking his JDate email one last time. Because Fatty's like one of three Jewish guys on the site that's taller than six foot and has all his hair, the kid gets more emails than he knows what to do with.
computer
I got home to find Tara hanging out in my apartment and wearing my underwear. Hey, you'd be hiding your face too if I'd caught you drinking drinking a wine cooler! Cuh-lassy! Hahaha
computer
Vin and Allison slept over in my guest bedroom - and someone, Vin I think managed to snap this late night picture of me being a dork and working on this very site. That's right ladies and gents, that desk is where it all goes down.
computer
...and after over a year of living in my place I finally got around to buying some curtains for my gi-normous windows.

Dzija sits down with a book and maps out the wiring scheme for all of our electrical outlets and lights.

Here's the mock-up of my Compaq print-ad campaign that I showed to them during a presentation. Hahaha.
