Haha. Later that evening we drove over... Sometimes you can't see the forest. Onward home. Rainy waterfall. Headed home. On Saturday Maddy and I went uptown... Cab ride home with Amanda. This! I'll bet male-attendance at this church has dramatically increased since the jerk BBQ restaurant opened next door. Hardly any traffic on a Wednesday. Took the backroads home. Perfect day for a drive. Hard to tell from this photo, but in-person you can see the Manhattan skyline from Rockaway. Car lot flags. Lehigh Valley. By 11am we were driving past corn fields. Amber waves of grain. And power lines. What do they make here? Jared and Gurj picked us up at 9am. Headed west. Coffee break on our way home. Chris picked Grant and I up and we headed north to Andy & Pepper's house. Dreamcatcher leads the way. Ellen and Hans came by a little before 11am and picked us up! Great Adventure, here we come! ...and we hit the open road! ...all the way to... ...but not together. Adorable. ...we'd started our 4-hour bus ride up to the very northern tip of the island. Headed to JFK. Sun rays on the ride home. Grant and I got up early on Sunday, picked up a ZipCar around the corner from my place... By the early afternoon, we were back in NYC and crossing over the bridge on our way over to Caiti's apartment to pick up Maddy ! ...nine-and-a-half hour drive through the desolate and hauntingly lovely pine barrens of Florida! We made it back to my parents place a little before 1am and went right to sleep. ...and then Meredith and I hit the road for the... After checking out of our Chipley, FL hotel, we hit the road for the remaining hour or so drive on to Santa Rosa Beach. Headed back home! Later that afternoon, we all piled into my dad's MEGA SUV (It's a hybrid, though!) to do some eating / shopping. Florida countryside. On our way to LGA. Volcano. ...hit the road! Our flight wasn't until 8am the next morning, but because of the condition of the roads, we wanted to drive during the day time. Driving back to... ...we'd managed to meet up with Lance from Surfari Charters ... About an hour and a half later... We managed to feed ourselves and be on the road before 7am. ...we picked up our rental truck and headed out to Hacienda Iguana near Rivas. Late night taxi to to Newark! ...and started the long haul back towards home! ...we decided to take a few hours drive in the opposite direction to check out Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. We hit the road on Monday morning! But since we weren't in any rush to get back to NY... It's the amusement park with the most roller coasters in North America! Woooo! A little after noon, per my mom's suggestion (probably spotted in the local paper)... Garage face! Cross Bay Bridge onto the Rockaway Peninsula. Ever seen Coming to America? This is like the real-life McDowell's. Haha. And we're off! Birthday family portrait. All packed up and ready to go! Sunset. We drove back into Manhattan to return Quinn's car. Really doesn't take all that much to make me happy. On Monday we met up at Cynthia's to go to the beach. She even let me drive her fun car! Sunday bus ride home. What a fantastic month. Happy July 2011! That feeling when you're driving home and you can still feel the waves moving under you. Take us away, Catrinel! Hey what are you doing later this weekend? ...head on home. A: Flatbush! Who needs a roof rack when you've got a mom-van? Headed home! Good day, buddy. On Wednesday evening, Ellen (and Piper) came and picked me up and we went out to Brooklyn to see... Did you know if you zoom in really close... Why get a surf rack when you can just put it in? ...and we all headed back to the beach! ...then pink & purples! Nature's fireworks proceeded the man-made stuff. The sunset was... ...so colorful! Tangerine... Brooklyn. We passed PUMPS on the way to Dominika's. One of my favoritest 4ths. All loaded up and ready to head home. On Saturday afternoon, me, Mer and Mrs. Miggins hit the road to head upstate to attend Fateman Jam IV! (See also: Fateman Jam III We rendezvoused with the party bus and were shuttled out... ...and then an awesome rainbow came out! Not a bad sign before a wedding! It drizzled rain for a bit... One of my favorite drives! ...who'd offered to drive out to Ft. Tilden! The two-hour drive back flew by. Haha. ......all the way up to Mendocino County...
