a thing in 718 photos driving A litte after 4pm, we crossed the Golden Gate bridge... On Monday we got an early start to do some sightseeing! Later that evening we went out for a Chinese feast! And before noon... Who likes roller coasters? Out of the city and southward bound before 11:30am! When we got upstate a bit... Healthy snack duo. Lap grimple. Perfect day for a roadtrip! Hitting the road! Hunter Mountain, here we come! ...to catch the bus up to Whistler! Look kids! Big Ben, volcano! Starting the bumpy ride back. For most of the week, we'd been surfing a small beach-break right out front of the camp. On Tuesday morning, we woke up early to travel to a bigger break. I remember taking this photo so clearly. The windows were down, we were on a dirt road, the stereo was cranked playing The Ocean by Led Zep, the morning sun had just broken over the mountaintops. A bumpy seventy minutes later, we'd arrived in Leon! Passing a cowboy on the road. So sneepy. On Tuesday morning, we took a day off from surfing (to rest our sore bodies and bruised bellies!) and took a ride into the nearby city of Leon for the day. Gated beach community. Nearby in Nicaragua can easily include a forty minute ride on dirt roads. ...a drove a few miles down the beach front to a nearby surf spot. Faaaack. ...to dirt roads passing by garbage dumps on fire. Semi-paved roads with lush greenery give way... Daniel's sun-whitened hair was easy to spot! ...and headed back to the airport! Zombified ride through the countryside. We woke up to beautiful skies on Monday and headed down the road... After the sun set, we headed back home for a bit. Nothing better than cruising the sleepy coastal-side streets of Florida by scooter. This part of Florida is a lot like south Jersey somehow. ...up the FDR... ...and we made it down by 10am! Insanity! No traffic on a Sunday morning.... ...while Cat, Amanda rode with Mer and me. Back to New York! All packed up and ready to head home! Thanks again to Jenny for suggesting the trip and organizing the weekend! ...and we headed out to explore the north fork! It's took us almost two and half hours to get all the way out there from Manhattan! Later that night, my parents drove us back up to the bus and we headed home! Congrats, John & Lindsey! Thanks so much for having us! That afternoon, we borrowed my mom's car and drove across southern Jersey so Meredith could attend her friend Mandy's bridal shower! Nothing like spending a week in nature to make your home look like garbage! Haha. I still love you, New York Shit-tay! Airport arrival. Nothing better than a scenic bus ride. Airport bound. The rain didn't last long and there was a rainbow afterwards! We drove home through a sun shower... After the park we drove over to... After Aki had finished up with work for the afternoon, we drove twenty minutes down to Pemberton... Sun aligned down Delancey. ...the sun is setting over the city. ...is really pretty... Driving over the Williamsburg Bridge... Kept getting better. Dramatic clouds and rays of sunshine over Manhattan in the distance. Driving home through Queens. ...joined forces with Pauly & Cynthia and drove out to Queens for a day at... Driving over the very same bridget a few minutes later. With the sun going down... ...we all piled into cars and headed We had decided to drive to Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom but needed to stop at Target on the way over to pick up snacks and party supplies first. We drove through town... Holland Tunnel on our way. Cross town traffic. I like these kind of bridges. We arrived around 2pm. Happy dog is ready to roll! Van full of awesome. After showing me the house, we headed back north to pick up Meredith at the bridal shower. I forgot to bring a bathing suit so my dad took me to Walmart so I could buy one on the cheap. Deep in Wawa Jersey. They sold their tiny house that was near LBI and bought a house in a gated golf and tennis retirement community... Boys weren't invited to the shower (tragic!), so after the women-folk left for the party, my dad and I drove down to south Jersey so he could show me the new house they'd just bought. Driving back through NJ. The meadowlands is surreal. Sunset! Happy birthday, Jo! I must admit. It's sort of interesting to be driving around the corporate office parks of Lindhearst, NJ and suddenly see a crenellated tower rise up out of nowhere. IAC Headquarters in the distance.
