Going through the holidays after our break-up was a bummer. I didn't want to have to talk about myself or answer any questions about my life. So I'd originally planned on spending Thanksgiving hiding out in my apartment.
I'm very thankful for Grant who came and dug me out of my hidey-hole and convinced me to head upstate with him to have Thanksgiving with the Fatemans! We were going to take the train, but then Ellen texted and offered to lend us her car! We stopped by their apartment and found Hans in... ...two tables of people I love to celebrate... Saved us from being popsicles. So thankful for these two for COMING TO OUR RESCUE! ...and later that afternoon, she and Ellen drove down from her parent's place and rescued me and Maddy! Quinn, Hans & Ellen. Ellen came over in the evening... DOGSCARF! Left over pizza for breakfast! We found a fire pit near the barn and got ourselves a nice campfire going. I made my way back to the house... LET THERE BE LIGHT (other than the giant paper globe that Matt was walking around with). I like this photo very much. Jenny and Ellen relaxed... We had ourselves a pizza-party dinner... Still going strong two hours in. Matt had to REGULATE, Warren G style. ...and a whole roomful of people he knew yelled SURPRISE! Snoozing snooches and patterned pants. So good. Hans & Ellen helmeting to depart via Hans' Vespa. (And Piper!) Later that evening, Mer and I went out to Brooklyn for dinner to celebrate... Maddy flopped down next to Ellen to coach her through the burn. I'm alway asking Meredith to walk or kneel on muscle knots in my back and over the years she's gotten real good at it. Ellen had a sore mid-back and so Mer went to work. Ellen came over on Friday evening. That evening Ellen came over to join us for the Mad Men season finale and Grant's puttanesca pasta with garlic bread and salad. Ellen and Hans came by a little before 11am and picked us up! It makes an $8 dollar pizza taste like a $20 pizza! Silent grazing. Look at that smile! So full of pizza and happiness and getting ready to nap out on a dog-pillow! I don't remember if there was a special occasion or if this was just a spring friend hang, but check out the solid Saturday night crew that rolled up into our place! Story time! Ellen came over to get in on the feast. The show-stealer of the evening was most definitely Hans' BRUTAL sunburn. Haha. SUPER HANS! Later, we headed over to B-Side to celebrate! Ellen stopped by at 7am to reunite us with our hound! Thanks so much for watching her, Ellen! Such a nice mid-week catch up! Friend reunion at Apt 3a! Later that night, we had a few people over for a low key hang. Jared & Ellen combo = magic. Never trust a big butt and a smile! Three books deep! Private room at Sing Sing on a Saturday night. Prime time! Ready to head out! On Saturday night a whole bunch of us got together to go out for karaoke! Our groups combined tables and we ordered lots of food. ...for Ellen's birthday breakfast celebration! Happy Brithday, Ellen! Later that evening, Jared & Ellen joined us... ...AND, my personal favorite, BANANA KETCHUP! This stuff is so good on french fries. I think we used-up this bottle in under a month. Haha. On Sunday night Ellen came back from her trip to St. Lucia and came over to our place to claim her nugget!
